Just spoken to my brother. He is almost 100% certain that Muse are playing Magdalen College Ball in Oxford on Friday 26th June - good info from organisers.

If this is true then this makes a guest slot even more liely in my eyes. Oxford really isn't that far away from Glastonbury.

I can tell you - 100% - that this is very definitely not correct.

Am trying to check things out about the possibility of Muse at Glastonbury, and early indications are that it's bollox.

Never mind health and safety if it is Muse, what's gonna happen to the poor sods booked to play if it's not? They will not be taken to kindly by people who have sacrificed watching bands that they wanted to see on the off-chance that Muse turned up.

So on that basis, Muse just have to play, it's for everyone's good. :P

They are one of my favourite bands, top three probably, but as much as I want this to be true, I can't help thinking that someone's just logged on here and read our speculations and posted this - I'm sure ME wouldn't comment on the Kerrang thing - the thing that was never even confirmed. One thing that was causing people to say it wasn't Muse is because they are just massive - headline capacity massive -though I suppose Emily did warn of health and safety.

Although, if there was someone posting 'updates' as Michael Eavis when it wasn't him, surely the festival would have it taken down?

Or do I just want this to be true too badly?

I quite like muse, although I have issues with them now. Somebody pointed out to me that after each song line Mat gasps for air like an asthmatic, one lunged smoker with bronchitus running for a marathon... Can't listen to his music without that image in my head now!

placebo and kaiser chiefs have been confirmed by other sources and were on lineups, but later taken down?

Placebo were never confirmed or self-confirmed. A BBC journo wrote an article around interviewing them, and that journo said they were playing Glasto. It's very probably wrong.
