After fannying around far too much and buying ridiculous items I am still minus wellies 2 days before the festival

I just ordered some from Amazon ticking the box that said they would be here in 1-2 working days, but now I have paid for them they have said they won’t be here till the 30th! Fat lot of good they’ll do me then!

I am now minus money AND minus wellies. Argh. Tesco bags on my feet it is then

Am hoping they will either give me my money back or deliver them earlier. Otherwise does anyone have any tips on shops selling them? (Just plain ones I am adverse to silly flowery ones!) I am too skint for fancy Hunters ones, anything 20 quid or less would be ideal.

Any advice? Apart from that I am good to go

Clarks do bog standard wellies, but you have to ask for them as they don't keep them out in the shop.

I'm erring on the side of not taking my wellies. They're a pain in the arse to cart around - especially if it turns out you don't need them. If (heaven forbid) the worst happened you can always buy them there.

lodes of places do cheap plain ones, shoe zone, johnathan james, B&Q, homebase. i got a pair of plain ones from B&Q last year, £6 bargin.

Wellies are also available in your local garden centre (try Homebase) or at Countrywide (the farmer's shop that used to be called MSF, Midland Shires Farmers.)

What stresses me more is the thought of having to actually wear wellies rather than buy them !

Millets are good, and B&Q too.

I have enormous calves and my hunters arrived today (short lace up) and for once I actually have wellies that fit and are comfortable. Expensive but worth every penny to find wellies that fit me

I think T MAxx had Hunters cheaper than most places

yeah, but its a captive market. Millets were charging 25 quid in '07 as they were the only stall who had readily available stocks.. they were coming in by the lorry load. The queues were laughable. At the very least, buy them, leave em in the car, go back for them if you need them... if not. Take them back. Homebase, B+Q. £9, cheap and cheerful.

i own a pair of steel toed dunlop wellies, £20 the day before 2007 and they work a treat in crowds.

I refused to spend more than about £15 on mine for fear that they'd get knicked or something

Got mine at a local car boot the other day for £6 ! They're silver and metallic and quite comfy.

ive not been worrying about wellies assuming i still had my pair from 2007 as my folks house....went round there yesterday for my tea and when they werent there is dawned on me i must have left them at glasto in 2007...will be buying some newbies tomorrow!
