My money is on the Libs. Something on the NME website today about Carl and Peter both playing the same festival in London and looks like they may play together again. Makes this more than likely.

Personally would love to see them, would be much happier seeing them play together because they want to and not because of the stupid money they were offered by other festivals to get back together.

Failing the Libs possible the Arctic Monkeys, new album more or less done gives them a chance to road test some songs and would have to keep the gig quiet not only because of overcrowding but they are probably Signed "Exclusively" for Reading/Leeds

i think it has to be a momentus band....

libs are who i think....

think theyd put a "park" type band on....libs are as park as it gets...

only other bands i can think of that would go down that well at that time, would be well the strokes or faithless

i think it will be the libo's

personally i just listen to music and like what i like without feeling the need to let other peoples view's and opinions on them sway my opinion, i couldn't give a toss how "rated" they are and who by i either like something or i don't.

people who use the old "so and so are overrated" bullshit need to grow the f**k up (unless they're still kids of course then it's forgivable)

going back to the original post i am wondering if Josh Homme will make a rare appeance on drums for Eagles of Death Metal.

Oh man. The Strokes playing would make my head explode with epicness. So would Faithless. Then again, The Cure, Stone Roses and Joy Division would too :D

I also don't see the big deal about the Libertines. They're ok, but nothing that special to me.

I think Radiohead might be a possibility actually...

It sounds ludicrous but remember Michael Eavis was quoted a few weeks ago saying something along the lines of getting phone call's from Radiohead's manager asking about things.

As ivan would probably say, It would please the Radiohead nerds

If I was a betting man, I'd definitely put money on the Libertines.

Wasn't it initially believed that Pete was playing on the Park Stage on the Saturday, but not headlining? And now there's a special guest?

Certainly makes sense in my mind.

Quote from the article:

"When are we going allowed to find out about it?"

"I don't think it will ever be announced. It will just happen for those people that happen to be there, hopefully for the people that are fans of the band."

I love the Park stage as well so would hate to miss something like this.

When I read the article the Libertines were who came to mind. I'll definitely be there to find out unless I have solid proof that it won't be them or somebody else I wanna see; I'd hate myself if I missed them..

You watch everyone will congregate waiting for the Libertines and some other hopefuls will show up and have abuse hurled at them.. :D

Could be someone like MGMT/Foals I suppose, but as others have said, it was Libertines who came to mind.

    • Brazil's first half was genuinely dreadful all round, not just the midfield, so they're absolutely not bulletproof. Whether Scotland have the quality to take advantage is a different question.   Tbf, that's as much on Morocco looking good, which I did think was a possibility. They could be a bit annoyed with themselves not to have scored more before Vini's goal tbh.
    • Surely nowadays with so much data analytics available on every division in world football and so much awareness that people aren't suckered in on the basis of a decent World Cup game... right?   Although tbf, from what I saw, Australia's game plan worked very well. But that was as much thanks to Turkey blowing varying opportunities given they created enough chances but couldn't finish, a la what happened with Switzerland against Qatar when they really could and should've won by 3/4 goals.
    • I missed Viagra Boys for a good spot for Gorillaz. Was a nice weekend and festival for me. Would definitely come back, if the line up is right. Get back home safe everyone.
    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
