Tips for securing a space blanket to the outside of a tent

Putting the foil layer between the tent inner and the flysheet is an excellent idea. If you've ever seen a house being built, you'll see they stick layers of reflective insulating board under the roof, sandwiched between other non-reflective plasterboards.

sorry if this has already been asked, I had a look through this post but didnt see anything at first glance....

what exactly do people mean by space blankets? I work for B and Q (someone has to!) and we sell space blanket insulation that looks a lot like what people have used in the photos, but having never seen a roll of it opened up I wouldnt know!

I guess I am asking is this the stuff or is there something else known as a space blanket that I should use? Last year I dont think I slept past 7am, even when we went to Shangri La on the Saturday and didnt get back til about 6am lol
