Wilco's new album (titled 'Wilco - the album' ?) is streaming for free on their website. Only heard it once on the tiny, and tinny, pc speaker, but it sounds pretty good to me.

also one show in London at the Troxy, on August 25th. Never heard of the place before, but it looks very nice on it's website

very happy :D

oops, posted on the wrong forum :D

Wouldn't go that far mate I don't really think any band is "The Best" band it's all down to taste. They do have some cracking tunes and Wilco A.M is a quality album too.

On a side note, my favourite album from The Fall is The Marshall Suite. It is a f**king quality album.

I can't think of a single post of yours that ive disagreed with mate. Glad to see im not the only one who thinks that about the forum either. Seems the majority of my favourite posters just hang out in Discussions now. What we're left with here is a smattering of quality posters and a whole shower of complete twats. :P

mutual

If they clashed with U2 I'd be VERY torn. Would depend on my mood at the time but it would be a nightmare to have to choose in fairness.

Knew very little about Wilco until Green Man last year - and it was awesome. Very tight band, lots of dynamics in the live, cracking musicians, depth to the sound.

I think the Park would be brilliant for them, I'd be there like a shot, website lists late May in Barcelona and mid September for EOTR. Have my doubts about them coming to England for just 1 gig, especially at Glasto rates... :P

Wilco are really excellent live. Saw them at the Latitude festival a couple of years ago in the sunshine and they were brilliant. The Wilco album is fantastic. I like Sky blue Sky which is fairly laid back.

Collectively they are brilliant musically and i wouldn't disagree that live they are one of the best bands in the world. Handshake drugs is an amazing song from their A ghost is Born album which is also great.

Anyone who likes really good music that takes a bit of time to get into then these guys are as good as anybody.

just got another Wilco email into my inbox...still no hint of playing a farm in late June. If anything, they're trying to throw us off the scent with UK shows only mentioned for September...

On other fronts and in other hemispheres, more Europe dates are up and on sale for May shows across Scandinavia and in Spain and Italy. We'll shortly announce another European tour for September which will include 5 shows in Germany, 5 in the UK and the band's first ever appearance in the Czech Republic. Watch the site for the announcement soon. Oh and lest we forget, Wilco will be touring Australia, New Zealand and Japan this spring as well. Those dates are on sale now.

    • I think they mentioned it in one and interview that the concept of Passport is one thing that differentiates the Sziget from other festival and encourages to explore the site outside music stuff. I doubt they will get rid of it, they might just be late, like they are with everything else.
