I saw MIA perform at the john peel in 2005. It was incredible, and Im now a fully fledged worshiper of the woman. I was devestated after she cancelled her park show in 2007, and then just downright angry when she cancelled her european tour last year. After shed had a baby, has refined her stage show, and has already played Coachella this year, along with other stateside festival bookings coming up, Im thinking this might be the year she finally returns.

Please note, Im very happy with the line up as it stands. Im not complaining, or asking more "new radio 1/nme" type bands are playing. Music is music and personally Id love to see maya at glasto 2009, and dont think Im alone. Anyone else think it might happen? I could see a dance tent headlining spot.

Yep I'd be there, and don't be so defensive boshca, all music is welcome at Glasto, don't get bothered by the Indybores moaning! I happen to have a certain penchant for Scouting for Girls, just watch the snipers get into position every time you mention them :(

And regarding MIA, she's like a nobbly-kneed Konnie Huq, she'd be welcome in my tent any time! Failing that, I'd head along to Dance Village to see her :D

Yeah I love her but I doubt she'll be there.

She loves cancelling tours at the best of times (the european tour she cancelled because she claimed she was "going to sit on her sofa until they caught bin laden") and she's just had a baby. Doesn't she live in the US as well now? It'd be a long way to come for one show, and I believe she said no to ATP vs The Fans when they asked her to play in May.

not sure, I dont think so but i'm willing to be proved wrong??

I've been lucky enough to see him 3 times now though including one of his funk 45's set's, he's brilliant live, but he's said somewhere on his site there will be no live dates this year so no glasto

Yeah she did just have a baby, however she performed a second to headline spot on the main stage at the Coachella festival on saturday, and is booked for another big festival in San Francisco later this year. Seeing as she hasnt played in England (her actual homeland) for so long, and now shes back on the circuit, it would be the ideal time for Glasto.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
