2008 was my first time at download and i must admit, i was not impressed with the 30 minute uphill walk to the arena. my mates who have been before say that was the first time the layout had been this way.

will the 2009 layout be the same with that rediculous walk to the arena?? also i heard that the main stage layout was crap compared to prevous years?? any word on that??

cheers

Basically it can't be inside the track anymore as theirs now motorsport stuff there so theres no room. The arena lay out is completelydifferent to last year due to the fact it's in a completely different place. It looks to have about 2 and a half times as much space allocated to it as last years did.

The old site was basically the in-field of the track, and due to F1 coming to Donington and the fact that the in-field's been dug up and made into a motocross track it wont be back. (The Dunlop tyre bridge has been demolished as well but it'll be back apparently).

Last year was pretty bad and I don't think anyone would argue with that but the best that could be done under the circumstances. It won't be back.

This year the lay-out is changed again, hopefully permanently and hopefully for the better. There's about twice as much room in the arena compared to last year, as has been said the new layout is on the main page of the Download site although it's not final and more importantly it's not to scale!

Basically the campsites pretty much stay where they were before, the arena moves to beyond the infield to the fields the other side of the track, behind that permanent building near to where the Dunlop bridge used to be (isn't it some sort of exhibition centre?). I think the campervans have been there before now.

It looks much better than last year!

I'm gutted about the tyre bridge. The first time I came to Download, when I walked under the bridge it was an amazing feeling. Of course it got routine as years went by but it was part of what Donington was all about. Shame its gone, but if they bring it back I won't complain.

As for the layout, last year wasn't perfect, but I for one didn't mind the long walk too much - I regularly walk long distances so for me it wasn't a big deal! I'd prefer it to be shorter again though.

    • Hezbollah rejected it. Really Israel should get the f**k out, and US and others should support the Lebanese govt in defeating Hezbollah.
