Hello sungubala. I have to say this is one of the most interesting threads that have come up on the forum for a while so Kudos for prompting this intriguing mystery tour of the internet to uncover your identity / band.

For now I shall stay out of the guessing games but would like to ask two things.

Should our fellow members narrow down your identity and relevant band successfully are you likely to reward their efforts by acknowledging they have worked the mystery out correctly?

I am also wondering if you are able to say which stage you are llined up for without confirming the name of the band?

i think he should reveal who he played latitude with before as he said that wasnt with his band but as a session drummer, so it wouldnt be breaking the festivals code of silence as he would merely be talking about his past, but it would also perhaps help us on our way to stumbling across an answer ourselves....

It wasn't meant to be a prompted mystery tour, but it seems to have ended up that way!

Should you correctly guess our identiy (you may have done already, who knows!) I can't confirm anything until we have the green light. Sorry.

As for the stage, one of the big ones next to a big open grassy patch  Narrows it down alot I think haha!

Thanks for answering sungubala, I thought they would be the answers but you dont ask you dont get.

Shame, you could have offered a couple of guest list tickets to your next gig as a prize for the most convincing and correct evidence. By the way where else are you playing and what dates?

Big stage with grassy bits, yeah that narrows it down a wee bit.

I wonder if its a big pointy stage, similir shape to those big blocky buildings in Eygpt lol.

If someone manages to correctly guess, with convincing evidence rather than just a guess, I'll consider giving something to them, but that's just out the goodness of my heart

it's quite a riddle this isn't it?

lets see what evidence we have so far...

he is male and a drummer

the band he currently plays in is one we should have heard of

he has played with dolly parton and neil young

he used to be a session drummer

he has played twice at latitude but not with his current band

he has played glastonbury and vfestival (with band or as a session drummer we dont know)

his band, if booked to play latitude this year will not be headlining, so that gives us a clue as to the sort of size band.

i think that's about it for now? hmmmm

    • Its just going to be another dementia tax isn't it? The issue is this is going to be seen as a continuation of the labour government that have already raised taxes 1000% above manifesto promises.
    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
    • But I think the point of that Dan Needle tax thing...we need to put up income tax, for all incomes (and thresholds should be unfrozen).
    • There are no easy answers...more than anything we need growth...and probably main ways of getting that is borrowing more to invest in stuff that makes us super sexy, and/or cut taxes on business and wealth generation which would mean less money to spend on public services and welfare and would obviously be super unpopular and get you chucked out of govt. On top of all that got an aging population, a growing welfare bill, a call for higher spending on defence, housing inequality, higher borrowing costs, and probably a load more sh*t on the way due to the Iran war (although so far it hasn't been that bad?)
