That's bad news. On the bright side, it does create mystery surrounding this fourth headliner.

If the NY thing is true and i guess i missed that because i thought it was set in stone. and if AM are what neil says then i can kinda see where the White Stripes rumour has come from. Maybe becasue i such a big fan this is wishfull thinking but it would leave the friday night headline for them. But you could say that for anybody.

Was it not said in a different thread that the 4th headliner would remain a secret until the day they played?

That could be because they are exclusive to a different festival. This does not stop them playing at other festivals, just means that they cannot be advertised as playing there.

This happened with The Last Shaddow Puppets last year, exclusive to Leeds/ Reading, announced on the day, played The Park.

Just a thought.

Maybe Arctic Monkeys were meant to be the 2nd English headliner but they dropped out so the White Stripes were added as a replacement as the 4th headliner? The White Stripes rumour came about around the same time as Emily mentioned some last minute changes didn't it?

Just throwing this into the mix - what if they were to play a secret slot in The Park?

the arctic monkeys probably wont play glastonbury this year, i think they will play next year, once they have toured the uk and europe with their new album they will probably tour the world again starting with glasto 2010, plus its the 40th anniversary, eavis probably has them lined up already for that.
