Major Surprise

I think we could be in for a mega surprise when the lineup is announced. My tip would definitely be in the foo / green day area as neither is even rumoured for Reading anymore.

Green Day below The Killers?

To be honest i will go if they announce either Sigur Ros or MGMT.

not a sniff for either mate. Just cos V have had lazy bookings this year doesnt mean they will feel anyway indebted to the paying public to put on a surprise. Don't mean to sound harsh but u aint gonna get anyone of that caliber playing below oasis or killers as these bands would throw theirtoys out of their proverbial prams. Dont mean to sound harsh with the above but if ur expecting summat like that your going to be very disappointed.

Dave Grohl announced the Foo's were on a break anyway so they won't show up. With regards to Green Day - don't like them so couldn't care less.

I think if there's going to be a major suprise it will be someone like Take That headlining C4.

is it me or does there seem to me a complete lack of rumours this year prior to announcement? I know announcement is earlier this year but I'm sure there was more rumours floating on efests last year - this year there is hardly any :0(

I won't get your hope up too much on surprises esp headliners however the lack of rumours there is always that small chance isn't there?

I'm really interested to see if V pull in anything different from what has already been announced for other festies.....

yeah it has been a bit quiet this year...but so has the forum tbf. I remember this time last year this place was abuzz with people. Now it's the same regulars (or irregualrs in my case) and a few n00bs asking stuff that's already been mentioned.

We need something big to happen!! I might start a Coldplay rumour thread...

V Fest are too lazy these days to do "surprises", same old bands trotted out as previous years now. Line up has got very stale and boring IMO. Easy choices putting Killers and Oasis, same as previuos years now they throw the big money at the two headliners and the rest of the festivals line up suffer because of it!

TBH it seems to be the case for a few festival based on bookings/rumours and isn't just V..... I would see what is announced on Monday before we completely burn them to the ground eh? As T/Oxegen are pretty much majority safe lineup tbh aren't they?

    • There’s a few in there which could go either way or I’m not bothered if I miss but think that’s now be pretty set.  Few rubbish clashes like Kasabian/Loyle plus Reytons/Pixies/CMAT but I’ll head with the lads to the most popular one.   (And yes no Byrne or Twigs, just can’t into either)
    • I saw somewhere they were advertising Lewis' day as him live on Glagow Green and only mentioned Amy Mcdonald and CMAT as support, 0 mention of the festival  I completely agree this will probably be the last one which is a shame because the first 2 seemed so promising and now its turned into middle of the road rubbish with acts you can see everywhere else  Anyone know if the BBC are covering it next week as it'll be fascinating to see how full (or empty) it is
    • Did anyone catch Viagra Boys last night? A rollicking good set, with a little more free jazz than I expected.   if you’re up early, Walabi is doing a super job in the Cupra Pulse. There till six.

    • They really dropped a bollock on their lineup this year. They went with Richard Ashcroft because he did well as Oasis support - But realistically, you're not getting 50k people in a field to hear the 4 or 5 songs they know at like £70+ a ticket. Can't get my head around the Kasabian booking, either. Finsbury Park was a bold move for them, and yes it sold out, but I think you're more likely to see people make the journey to London if they want to see them rather than Glasgow. A second similar capacity show was always going to be a big ask for them.
