Ed Leaf
you mean northwich surely, since burgess' old man recently retired from our Northwich site.
andyblack
ah. on a black box recorder note, i've read luke haines new book. its a mixed affair, which reveals little i didnt learn from reading the melody maker when i was 17. apart from the fact he seems a very bitter young man. however, i think you might like it. wanna borrow it? Ed Leaf
Charlatans, Slade and Credit to the Nation, then? I'm up for that.
andyblack
the first credit to the nation album is brilliant. richardh and i were both lucky enough to see credit to the nation and chumbawamba support the levellers at the long defunct granby halls. sadly matty hanson lost the plot and followed up with an abysmal mark morrison esque swing album, which oddly was big in australia when i was out there ten years ago. walsall, like near stourbridge. at this point therefore i'm duty bound to mention ned's atomic dustbin. seantizz
they did play, (off the top of my head) 2006?
andyblack
Absolutely sure that Peter, Bjorn and John have never played... think you must be thinking of somebody else Andy...
Kaybee
He is right. I'm pretty sure they haven't played. I would so love to see Ned's, or Carter, but then I am stuck in the past. On the subject of which, can't WAIT for the Charlatans. Sean - I think we should keep the me/you/RichardH/Streets/Tremendous Disco story to ourselves! Clique alert. Sorry. RichardH
well, clique alert indeed Can I please (very gently) suggest to Andy/Ed/Sean/Kaybee that this thread of all threads ought to be as welcoming as possible to new or infrequent posters and gets back on topic.... jay.v
Well, I'm pretty impressed so far. Problem is after just a few days I find myself needing more announcements. I'm liking the old indie ideas, even if you missed out the mighty wonder stuff, another top local band. And Miles Hunt is also doing his solo thing. andyblack
marshall : many apologies i was clearly talking rubbish!! Id love to see the original wonderstuff line up. Ed Leaf
Ed, That is a lovely link... how young does Tim Burgess look? Indian Rope anybody??? For what it's worth, I think it's the strongest bunch of headliners the Summer Sundae has ever had....
rob372
I would like to suggest Richard (or one of his henchman )signs up the excellent 'The Miserable Rich' to this years bill. As just two days ago the lead singer declared 'The End of the Road festival' as the best festival. Stick em' on early sunday afternoon then he'll change his mind. Plus bring along 'Woodpigeon' (who The Miserbale Rich supported), they're even better. Just to continue the 80's theme..Why not give 'ANVIL' a go ! Bless em'.
