The Third Headliner

I can't see on the download forums anything about the Third headline but I did just read the festival directors blog and he says they've sold more tickets this year in the first week on sale than they have ever done in the past

He didn't say in regards to how much of the overall allocation of tickets have been sold though, but if its a solid Friday Headliner, I reckon Download might sell out this year and sooner than you think

Problem with GnR is that the Festival organisers are excited and making it look as if they're bagged some amazing headliner. How could you expect people to be surprised that they got GnR when they got them, what 2/3 years ago? They've got them before, so it's hardly a big pull, is it.

My money is on AC/DC, now that their slot at Leeds/Reading is out the window. That looks to me like it'll be Th'Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon and Green Day.

I'm only bothered if it's Rammstein. I couldn't give two shits about AC/DC, GnR and H+H

Don't like a single act announced so far so I am truly hoping that none of the bands here are announced - so far the only thing keeping me interested is the possibility of NFG.

Well thats by no means a confident guess. Just a guess. Can't really think who it will be, and reckon they might be a 'surprise' being stored up for us.

Then again it might end up as Heaven And Hell. I just got them figured as a similar to Whitesnake kinda spot.

My guess is Blink 182.

Not an overly huge fan of the band, but i reckon all this hype is certainly hinting at "The Return of Blink 182" sort of thing.

EDIT: I'd also say it ties in pretty well with the headliners at the moment, with sundays classic rock and saturdays "nu-metal". Yep, ive convinced myself its Blink.

I'd prefer Nickelback to Muse, but I'd watch them both. I'd prefer neither though. I don't think it'll be Blink, thank Christ.

I'm going for GnR or Rammstein at the moment. GnR, just because of those 'unofficial' dates and the coincidence of Donington being the Friday; Rammstein, because Neil still has them as a weak rumour. I think he knows but can't say, and if it wasn't going to be Rammstein he would surely have taken them down by now...?

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
