thats my badboy returning for its second year! but this time with a mighty 6m pole to identify my tent, along with a nice little red flashing light for the top, so i can find it at night too! i never knew not to tie it right to the top of the pole either, i guess this explains why my flag always looked crap!

every area and every generation has one of those guys when they're growing up.

and he may be a real guy but he didn't do the things his urban myth alter ego supposedly did he was just a bit of a weirdo not child killer.

Just for reference, how tall is that flag pole and how big is the flag?

Thanks

Well finally got round to doing our flag! :D

This was the image we decided on.

And this is the final result.

Well chuffed with it especially considering we nearly had a complete disaster on our hands. Leaned over to get something and I knocked a load of pink paint onto the flag! :D We scratched our heads wondering what to do, should we bleach it? Then we came up with the masterstroke of doing the girl cartons legs pink instead of white (the spillage was where her left leg is). Was kicking myself! ;)

So if you see it in Kidney Mead along with a Saltire and a Haribo flag then pop over and say hello. :)

All I'll say is that if you google "flag fatality" you get 306,000 pages.

306,000 pages, people! Don't sound so safe now, do they?!

Yippee all my flag stuff arrived today! Trouble is I now have to wait until next Friday before decorating it! We're having a pre-Glasto party for our group of 10 where everyone gets to daub a bit of paint on or do a letter or something each. Really looking forward to it - we have Brothers in the fridge, sticking the Glasto DVD on in the background, made a few playlists of artists playing, have BBQ at the ready. Admittedly, we could have sorted out the arrangements for travel, food, cooking equipment and stuff over phone or email but somehow that just didn't seem as much fun

I LOVE flags! We bought one of the smiley faces flags last year and we took it everywhere, it is a great way to find people quickly. This year we are gonna make a few changes to it and buy a proper strong pole as it took quite a battering from the crowd :) I allways take into consideration others around me and try not to annoy anybody. :)

    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
