HOMECOMING MUSIC FESTIVAL LINE-UP UPDATE…

“The only new festival you’ll want to be at this year.”

“Keep your friends close but THE ENEMY closer!”

Homecoming Festival will take place at Irvine Beach on the May Bank Holiday, Saturday 2 May and Sunday 3 May 2009. We promised a more comprehensive update on the line up today exclusively on this site and we trust that what you are about to read will more than impress.

HOMECOMING LIVE:

THE ENEMY will perform live and headline the main stage. Having secured worldwide success with their debut album ‘We’ll Live And Die In These Towns’, which spawned a hit single of the same name as well as hits ‘Away From Here’ and ‘It’s Not OK’, The Enemy march into 2009 with a massive UK headline tour, with over forty gigs between February and July. They also join Kasabian in supporting Oasis of their upcoming, sold out stadium tour including two shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park and culminating with two prestigious dates at London’s Wembley Stadium. Add to that the hype building around their latest single, ‘No Time For Tears’, and 2009 looks set to be a huge year for the band, crowned with their headline appearance at the inaugural Homecoming Festival.

Other headliners include REVEREND AND THE MAKERS, another one of the UK’s finest bands, with a critically acclaimed debut album, ‘The State Of Things’, under their belt as well as huge singles ‘Heavyweight Champion Of The World’ and ‘Open Your Window’. There will be other live performances from the likes of SCRATCH PERVERTS, SOUTH CENTRAL, EVIL 9 AND DAN BLACK. Supplementing the live performances on the main stage we have Snow Patrol DJ set and Pigeon Detectives DJ set to name only a couple, watch this space for more announcements…

LINE-UP ADDITIONS:

Having previously announced an appearance from the world’s biggest DJ ARMIN VAN BUUREN, we can now reveal that he will perform a four-hour set in his own State Of Trance arena. Add to that arenas from Black Hole Recordings and Elite and Ovum Records, and artists such as JOSH WINK, DERRICK CARTER, MASON, JIM RIVERS LIVE, TONY HUMPHRIES, DIMITRI FROM PARIS, LISA LASHES a Scottish festival exclusive from the world’s no 1 female DJ, TIDY BOYS, TIM WESTWOOD, ANDY DUGUID, TON TB, JOCELYN BROWN, INDIA and TAIO CRUZ and you can understand why we are very excited about Homecoming Festival.

The Enemy snub Homecoming Festival to play in US instead

INDIE trio The Enemy have snubbed their Scottish fans in favour of the US.

The rockers were due to headline new music event Homecoming Festival, which takes place at Irvine Beach Park in Ayrshire on May 2&3.

But the band have pulled out to play in the US instead.

They shot to No.1 in the UK with their album We'll Live And Die In These Towns, but the band, Tom Clarke, Liam Watts and Andy Hopkins, felt they failed to break the US and are hoping to make more of an impact with their follow-up.

A source from The Enemy's management company said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Enemy have had to cancel their appearance at Homecoming Festival.

"The band were looking forward to playing the event but due to scheduling issues, have to go to America to promote the new album.

"The band have not taken the decision lightly, but they feel they are doing this for the good of their long-term career.

"The band wish to apologise for disappointing any fans hoping to see them."

What i find funny is HCS are already ploughing money into some of the smaller independent festivals, they should have just chosen one of them to be their centre piece rather than this lame excuse which looks ill thought out given the current financial climate and saturation of festivals north of the border, did they not see that Connect and Loch Lomond have already bit the dust?
