Can't get that Fish Vid to start!! :(

Can someone summarise it a bit more? Cheers!

Oh, and in response to Aragorn's worriedness about some more unsetled prospects for Glastonbury later on, in what he called the 'horrible' 06z run, here's what a regular over on Netweather commented around 11:46 am today .... I missed this earlier ...

it looks increasingly like Glasto is going to be sun drenched this year. I would take lots of sun cream and moisturisers if I was going. (It would be the pyramid stage on the sat and sun for me!! )

The highest temps could well be in parts of the west country with easterly winds as the high pressure settles to the north east of the UK.

Always the outside chance of the weather providing its own finale at Glasto with some pyrotechnics as low pressure approaches to the south and southwest, but this is all a long way off yet to know with any confidence at all.

There is nothing 'horrible' about the 06z at all from what I can see. Just that threat of a few thundery showers moving up from the south. Which is some people's eyes is not a bad thing at all anyway!

can't even begin to describe how excited I am right now. First glasto was baptism of rain in '07, last years not too bad and even got a taste of lounging around in the sun with good company and pear cider....obsessively watching this thread as I have the past couple of yrs, don't know how much more I can take...but for the moment....YAY!! *goes off to pack suncream!*

I like 'Paul B' on netweather.tv cos he says things like this;

'Stunning model output for next week and it really looks like summer will really set in. With the sun at its strongest, UV levels will be at their highest though, so that will be something to be very wary about.

How long it will last is open to question, but I wouldn't bet against Wimbledon fortnight being completely dry. This upcoming spell of weather should also finally put to bed people's worries of another dodgy summer.'

Bah - who needs weather forecasts - it's all about omens and portents.

And the omens just got better !

I was searching through my desk for something and came across a guardian guide - from 1999 ! The only year out the last 10 I have been to when there was absolutely no rain whatsoever all weekend (no doubt someone will contradict me on that !).

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
