Unexpected Gems

Due to the lack of non-headliner discussion I thought I'd start a thread to see if people could guess/wishlists of those decent name acts that no-one thought would play? Last year we had The Stranglers, Alanis Morrisette, Lost Prophets (who were w*nk IMO) & Lenny Kravitz, before that Goo Goo Dolls, Beck etc.

I think this year we might see Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band, Chris Cornell & The Lemonheads.

Nice call on The Black Crowes, they've been on my list to see for a while. I saw Evan Dando solo a few years ago, he just did Lemonhead tracks acoustic & even though he was smacked of his tits it was still aweseome.

I expect Ned's Atomic Dustbin to be there, they're doing a reunio tour this year and said they hope to play some festivals, seems that V would book them, they love their retro acts, was shocked that Dodgy didn't get booked last year

If the Beastie's played I'd be the happiest person there, surely they'd have to headline? They ralrely tour Europe so demand would be huuuuge. They have been announced as a headliner for Bonnaroo though..Blur & The Beastie Boys (UK Exclusive)?

beastie boys were actually on the vfestival survey of bands youd like to see there but didnt feature in the headliners section suprisingly, they were just in the other acts youd like to see play bit.

the headliners section only features bands who would play top 2 on the mainstage though, so if beasties did play im sure they would headline either channel 4 or jjb stages

I thought the bands that headlined the JJB were the kind of acts that would play 'Apollo' (2,500) sized venues? I remember how quickly tickets went for the Beastie's last arena tour, how happy I was to get 2 & the ridiculous prices they were going for on Ebay. Have any other bands that could sell out the MEN in under an hour played in the JJB or Channel 4 for that matter? Beasties are more popular than The Prodigy, there's plenty of tickets left for their shows & that's with Dizzee Rascal supporting (who had a huuuge) crown at Leeds last year.

Oh wow I was a huge Ned's Atomic Dustbin fan when I was younger that would be awesome! They would certainly have an audience at staffs thats for sure

Why Beastie Boys as a Non Headliner? They deserve to be a headliner.
