My first one, i think and I was a bit befuddled by it all. I think (if I'm not mistaking it for 94) that Ultramarine played the other stage mid afternoon one day, i remember the Ozrics, Stereo Mcs and the orb on the saturday evening, although i was well trollied. was this also the year that the Beastiies played or was that 94? To be honest, they all blur into one shambolic alcohol and drug fuelled happy time ;)

Beasties was 94 as I was there though I didn't see them. Big highlight: The Cure. Also remember sitting there ignoring Johnny Cash waiting for James (what a complete twat!).

Remember in 95 having to choose between Prodigy, Massive Attack and Oasis.

I saw the beginning of MA and the whole of the Prod. I believe history will judge me better for that decision than the Johnny Cash one!

Of course, Johnny Cash. None of my mates would come with me, and I really wanted to go as I'd grown up with his music (my Mum was a big fan). So I went on my own. The pisstaking I got from the lads...

Course, now, every single one of my mates claims to have seen him there, lying bastards... ;)

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
