It's not often I disagree with you, sifi, but I watched it over Christmas and still loved it.

I think it's still a classic. The merchandising gag is brilliant - especially with President Skroob pissing with 'Spaceballs: The Toilet Paper' next to him.

I watched quite a lot of Mel Brooks films over Christmas. Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles are my 3 favourites. I also saw Dracula: Dead And Loving It and Robin Hood: Men In Tights which are far, far weaker IMHO.

I just thought some of the gags were a bit, well, tired and obvious. Pizza the Hutt. The radar being jammed. My schwartz is bigger than yours etc. I've not see the Dracula and Robin Hood ones mind. I think Spaceballs is weak as compared to Silent Movie, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles and the Producers for example.
