TV Licensing

If the rooms are rented out seperately then I think each person who owns a TV will need a licence. If the only TV is in a communal room (like a living room) then you only need one licence. If the bedrooms have locks on them then you're more likely to need a licence per person.

Having said that, you can probably get away with it as long as there's one licence for the house as they can't really tell who is using a TV.

  • 1 year later...

I had a letter through my door about me not having a TV licence (they check every couple of years that your situation hasn't changed, if you are not on the database).

I phoned up to check because I now have the internet at home and I do watch 4OD and iplayer etc.

I was informed that I still don't need a tv licence because I don't watch tv at the time it is being broadcasted.

Happy Days!!!!

I just thought I'd let people know the rules, for those in a similar situation to myself :)
