  1. I was late to them to be honest. Thought the debut album was average and hated Alright (still do). Everything after that though was incredible. Moving and Richard III are such great songs on every level. Gaz Coombes solo stuff is also brilliant. In fact, I'd say he's probably one of the most underrated songwriters of the last 25 years.
  2. St Etienne and Gabriels the main draw for me. Although never heard of Confidence Man before and that track above is banging.
  3. I always loved Supergrass back in "the day" and only got to see them once. I was beyond excited that they got back together to tour and then Covid fucked that into a cocked hat. They are one of my only 4 absolute must sees this year. BUT Almost nobody out of my mates, fellow Glasto goers, wife, colleagues etc. could give a flying shit. Searching here, seems no one gives a fuck either. Is it just me?
  4. Williams Green tent has indie disco and cheesy sing along stuff most nights after the bands have done and (I think) goes on until 3am. We were there 3 out of 5 nights in 2019 and it was great fun.
  5. 😲 Once described to me by a pal as bad 80's synth pop fronted by a man who sounds and moves like Gollum being electrocuted. I thought he was being overly generous.
  6. This one: TOPK Power Bank, 20W USB C Fast Charging 20000mAh Portable Charger, PD3.0 QC4.0 Battery Pack With Digital Display PowerBank Compatible with iPhone 13 Pro Max, Samsung, Huawei, iPad, and More. : Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo £29.99 now but was in a flash sale at £22.50 when I got it. By my maths me & Mrs 4AM should get at least 3 x 0% to 100% charges each out of it. Plenty.
  7. Lots of talk on here of getting mixers/ice at the co-op. Think there's a danger of demand massively outstripping supply. I'd be gutted if I was reliant on it and they sold out by Saturday morning or I had a 2 hour queue to get in the place.

    Diana Ross

I've seen him a few times and he ALWAYS references that. Both I, and my missus, would die of excitement if they duetted it at Glasto. I mean, come on. Does it get better than that??
  9. New 20,000mAh power bank and straw sun hat just been delivered! Erecting, checking and proofing the tent at the weekend. That always gets me super giddy.
  10. Oh I’m here for that. Not sure it would be great warm though….
  11. Elbow always get me. Mirrorball particularly. Was it 2011 and 2014? Can’t remember but their music always pulls my heartstrings. And 2013, admitting to my best mate (and myself) that my marriage was over. Then him hugging me so hard and saying all the right words. Fucking love that guy. 💙
  12. Saturday afternoon 2019 was 32 degrees I think? I remember melting watching Mattiel at the Park, then going for cold cans of water at the bar and the guy serving telling me it was 32 in the shade.
  13. Aware of this, but even in brand new Goretex I’d sweat like a rutting pig. After 30 years of hiking and cycling, the whole “breathable” claim on technical fabrics is artistic licence IMO. Plus if it’s raining enough to need it and I’m just stood in a field then I’d rather it just keep the rain out.
  14. Agreed. 30 degrees + is too hot. Any rain at all is too wet. Let no one say I’m incapable of compromise.
  15. Here here. Anyone who’s been there in Somme conditions would agree. Fri/Sat in 2010 were as hot as 2019 - pushing 30 degrees - just don’t think the full 5 days were overall as hot and dry. Still remember walking away from Snoop at the Pyramid feeling close to sunstroke and with a huge dry mouth. Then getting a proper heat stroke wobble later that day, despite a combo of factor 30, much water and a few cold ciders.
  16. Almost completely forgot about Yacht Rock Paradiso. Great couple of hours. Roof came off to Africa. ❤️
  17. Never tried hard seltzer but sounds right up my street. Will give it a whirl in advance to try it. 3rd upvote for Jam Shed. One of the nicest reds going.
  18. Biggish 4 man tent so need a fair bit. But I also give rain jackets/hats a couple of coats. Just in case....
  19. Bought 5 litres of tent proofer. Got the trolley and rucksack out to check over. Ordered a new straw Sun Hat and power bar to charge the phone. Getting giddy now. 😃
  20. 2010 and 2019 had their challenges with the heat and dust, but I would take that in a heartbeat over any sniff of mud. 22-25 DegC would be perfect IMO, but it needs to be DRY.
