  1. Sadly missed H&F. The Bell manager / staff once ran a bar at Glasto somewhere around Jazzworld in 97 / 98 I believe, maybe 95 too but dont recall. I used to go to The Hub nightclub at the bottom of The Paragon as well. Used to buy all my army surplus stuff in Walcot Street and 2nd hand records opposote at Lost in the Mix.
  2. The announcer in Toad Hall mentioned this before they were on this year - was impressed. I've seen them once at Glasto every year since 1994 (and havent missed a festival since then). Has become a kind of a tradition since I used to watch them in The Bell in Bath even before 94. Are you Mark's brother perchance?
  3. Same here - went from Henge back to pack up for trip back and was f**ked. Didnt sleep - just carried on until I was out. Got back to Bath and slept for 5 hours.

    Other Festivals

Worked it in 17 and the place was awash with Class As - took 4 away to medical in the woodlands in a 1 hour period at one point! Was the year of ket tho I think.

    2024 Headliners

Annie Lennox BBC 4 right now - Sunday sundown slot?

    Vodafone

The o2 signal was ok but suspected it was external to site and not relayed by temp standup basestations. Slots were the issue rather than signal, again consitent with external masts - was better up the hill.

Been in 2017 before it was downsized a bit.

Prodigy for Boomtown - soooo tempted..
  9. SE is resting on its creative laurels a bit now. However considering the staff bleed likely precipitated by C19 it did a good job this year. Its guarenteed popularity means innovation on a broader or conceptual scale is perhaps unecessary, but would appreciate a 'story' or change of theme again like Boomtown.
  10. My average is 22 acts over last 23 Glasto's. Managed 27 this year so a good one in my books.
  11. I actually havent secured tickets myself for the last 5 years! A mate on a Mac in Chester has managed to get them 4 me in all those years. So get a macbook and move to Chester and yer in.
  12. This is true - and the relationship between Michael and the farmer at Windinglake already has a history of tension. However he also cannot reasonably allow him to dictate his terms if in too stark a contrast with the festival ethos or message as it will undermine its credability.

    Glasto flu

Have same symptoms - C19 test neg. I'm agreeing then with peeps here saying its the dust and maybe another cold virus doing the rounds at the site over the weekend. Brothers seemed to start off the sore throught though after enough of them.

    Just got back

The bands statement doesn't say its indefinite, though its inferred that its likely to be.
  15. I noticed the access paths across the arena were eventually filled with standing people as well. How anyone got out again for a piss is beyond me and god help anyone in there in an emergency as there was no way in or out for any services...

    Just got back

Same here 95 just when Second Light had come out. Seen them at G and so many other festivals as well since and have lost count. Always misses something without MC Spee tho.

    Celebrities

Heh yeah I said hello to him too on Sun b4 Elton. He was making changes to one of the cars in the henge and I told him how much I'd enjoyed this and his other works over the years.

    Just got back

I was in there in the middle for Dreadzone as always.
  19. I know what you mean tho it seems to have become the new fist bump now - when setting up tent on Wed AM around me were endless groups of friends seeming obsessed with hugging each other over and over again to the point where it does being to look a bit ott..
  20. Crowds - definately even busier this year - reckon most is staff, crew and their mates - saw so many more non regular punter wristbands on peeps. Wtf its going to be like when the next proper wet 2007 / 2016 year arrives and no one can sit down and everyones channeled through the narrow paths I dont know. Will prob put a stop to picnic blankets mind. Drugs - ket just puts you to sleep - whats the fun in missing loads of festival. Always felt coke generally turns a twat into an even bigger one. Where are all the proper drugs - MD, acid, green etc that used to promote more peace / unity / chill. Hugging - yeah I get youre pleased to be there with your mates but it just starts looking so fake after the 100th time.

    Carparks

Gate B worked pretty well this year I thought. Also was parked a reasonable distance from it this year and not seemingly 10 miles away which is what it felt like in 2022.

    Carparks

Look they dont care or manage leaving traffic properly - they never have. Leave b4 8 or late after 7 else you'll be in a q for hours. Left at 5, car park by 6, straight out. I just go out Sun till 4 then go back, pack up and leave - watching the site being taken down and stripped on Mon is never a pleasant sight anyway.
  23. Rained as I drove out through Shepton at 6 this morning.
  24. These sort of groups hopefully seem to be fewer now I think - clambering around Big Ground this morning there was just the odd 'island' of crap where the'd been.
  25. It would certainly reduce the 'tourists' perhaps.
