This is a sexy run so far (up to Sat 00:00) seems slightly less rain Tuesday, then it's pretty much the same, with that rain storm Friday pushed further North West away from us!!! High is building in quicker and stronger too, but temps look similar so far.

I was gonna get some vessis to handle any showers, but forget until it was too late for delivery... They were on a bloody good offer too 😞

Ours was £4.30 last year, increases over winter pushed it up to £4.80. So if they've done the same, £4.50 ish is probably manageable. Guinness is a sore point, I've recently spent a lot of time and energy approaching all brewers and wholesalers to supply us, in order to get the best prices, and keep increases down for our customers, (we're free of tie) but none of them can do anything about Guinness prices, they absolutely have a monopoly on (mainstream) Stout, and they're not afraid to exercise the power that gives them. They know you 'have' to stock it.

I presume that was the full strength Lagunitas? Not the (nicer imo) Lagunitas Daytime session? If so, that is a decent price for an event, it's over 6%, you'd pay well over £6 in a pub. Cost price was almost £160 for a 30L keg (52.7 Pints) in 2019, (£3.03 per pint) dread to think what it is now. Are you sure the Guinness is £4? If it is, the tenants won't be there long. Guinness (or should I say Diageo) maintain complete control over their product, you simply can't get better prices from any suppliers by shopping around, and it's expensive. Should be at least £4.80 in a pub really, absolute minimum I'd expect to see it at is £4.30 to £4.50, anywhere, and they wouldn't be hitting a sustainable GP at that price. £4.00 is borderline loss leader. Carling, Doom Bar, Coors etc at £4.00 is about right... And Strongbow should be less than £4.00. No idea about Worthy, we've never sold that fake bitter shite, but I imagine that is the lowest priced pint is it?

Sooo... We're looking at a total rainfall of 26-35mm Between now and Wednesday. It's a fair bit, not great, but this won't be the actual amount that is indicated on the ground in this heat, and it doesn't seem to ever come down too heavy. The Ram Jam Jar will be fine, and so will the ground. Come on you're better than that Skip. I had every Hysteria, Helter Skelter, Dreamscape etc tape pack I could get my hands on in the 90s too (I was too young to go to 'legal' events like some of you older folk. 😛) And I still like the classics now. But technology has come a long way since the S1000, so has Drum & Bass, and it's modern sub genres. The new stuff is great in it's own right, and it's keeping the genre alive. Personally I can't get enough of it. Save the 'in my day' stuff for the grandkids. 😉 I literally couldn't get into any of the D&B sets I wanted to see last year without queueing ages, and I was told to never queue on here (I regret that now) so I went and found other stuff. Lots of house, trance etc, that I could just walk straight into. Probably explains why the high proportion of D&B currently, the genre has been experiencing a huge mainstream renaissance for a while now. But if you're not a fan of D&B... The popularity of people like Fred, Four Tet, Bicep and Skrillex are making other dance genres very mainstream right now. That will surely force more of a balance in the future? I think Fred and Four Tet's sets are going to be packed with youngsters. 21 year old lad I know who is going for the first time (not with us) mentioned those 2 as his must see sets first. (Yeh I know, sample size of 1, but you get my point. 🙈😂)

Honestly, The GFS needs to just get in the bin... I tried to rally an angry mob against it last night, but nobody was biting... The ECM is our friend Temps Rain Which may look worrying, but check out the accumulated rainfalls between now and the festival... Up to gates opening 12mm (Nothing) Then a further 3mm during the festival... (Less than NOTHING) Can we just bin the GFS now?

I’ve seen this pattern several times before, it WILL rain over the next few days, then what sometimes seems to happen is that because of that, the longer range charts start to favour low pressure and show a weird kind of bias towards that lingering. But what actually happens is, after the storms, the high builds back stronger… I REALLY hope that happens here. Not saying it will, not by any means, just that I’ve seen it happen with these charts several times before. Maybe one of the experts here can explain why this sometimes happens? Why a period of low can sometimes trick the charts into thinking it will linger longer than it does?

Same with the ECMWF 00z Nothing but a few light rain showers up until opening... Then the possibility of the lightest, barely registerable, showers on a few other days.
