  1. Yep, I think it's a Boeing 787 Dreamliner... So we may need to check the forward pressure bulkhead, composite strength, panel gaps, vertical tail fin and fuel lines.... Doors 'should' be ok though... 🙈🤣
  2. But just think of the lie-ins you could have in the lower tiers without that pesky sunshine waking you up... 🤣
  3. Due to the lack of camping space, Glastonbury will be introducing 'high rise' camping options for the first time in 2024... (Stole this off a wild camping group I'm a member of on Facebook, but instantly made me think of Glastonbury last year.)
  4. Poster seems fine to me... Plenty of names I wanna see there... A lot of names I'm not familiar with by name, so gonna be fun researching them all, although you haven't left us much time Emily.... Am I imagining it, or was a poster like this posted a while ago now and written off as fake due to the stage splits etc? If so, can anybody link me to that original post, I've tried looking back, and can't find it, so starting to think I imagined seeing this poster already.
  5. Skepta would be great.

    Food Traders 2024.

I'm getting deja vu here... sure I saw that picture, and had / saw the same response, last year... 🙈🤣 As long as Crumble Shack, Annie Maes and the dosa place near WG / CH that does those amazing homemade bhajis are there, I'm golden. No doubt we'll do our usual "food truck crawl" where we go stall to stall as a group for a few hours buying one item to share from each. So I hope there's some new and interesting stalls too.
  7. I'm no enthusiast or expect, but yes, I like a 'good' show. One that's story driven, set to music with precision timing, and encompasses other elements, like lasers, fire, drones etc. That was my point all along, that I never bother with smaller displays like Glastonbury's, they always seem a bit naf after experiencing so many really good full scale productions. Sorry for the confusion. Edited to add: If we're going to enjoy fireworks for years to come with minimal impact on the environment, I also believe that big productions are the way to go, and hopefully less people using them at home... 30k people in a field watching one display has to be better than each of those families having their own small display in the garden... Right?
  8. They said 'personally love fireworks.' hence the offer...
  9. Fair enough... I can recommend some good displays in the UK if you're genuinely interested?
  10. That's actually a very good point, the amount of smoke last year would suggest they're using cheap fireworks. If they were using eco friendly fireworks they would have been nitrogen instead of perchlorate based, producing much less smoke. 😕
  11. Yes heavy metals in fireworks are an issue, they were traditionally used to produce the colours. However, there have been fireworks that do not use these dangerous heavy metals for quite a while now. Lead and chromium were banned years ago. and the relatively safe borate, magnesium, calcium and sodium, can be used instead of dangerous metals to produce colours in 'greener' fireworks. I would have hoped that Glastonbury would already be using the greenest options, given the farming location, though perhaps not. You can go even further than this. Disney apparently uses greener fireworks, but also launches their shells using pneumatic air instead of explosive charges, further reducing the carbon footprint of their nightly show too. I'd love to learn how that works, because their shows are very well timed to music too, so I'm guessing the pneumatics help with that.
  12. I doubt anybody would miss them, their fireworks are rubbish anyway. Biggest benefit would be reducing the impact on wildlife, although I suspect the noise from the festival itself isn't too great here either. In terms of carbon, it's not going to make a massive impact at all, something like 0.5kg of CO2 per kg of flashpowder. It's not the longest show and they don't use very big shells at Glastonbury at all. To put that into perspective, 'green' biofuel produces 1kg of CO2 per litre in generators. Maybe they could use the money saved to invest into more green infrastructure, that would be pretty cool.
  13. Drone shows are crap without fireworks and other elements anyway, so don't worry too much. I've seen lots of drone shows now, and they get very old, very quickly, believe me. However, alongside a 'good' fireworks display, set to music and bringing in other elements too (lasers, fire, whatever) they work very well. I think the days of 'just fireworks' or 'just drones' are behind us. People expect more nowadays, they want a multi dimensional show, set to a story with good music.
  14. I'd forgotten about that, quite a moment with a few confused faces around, some because they had no idea what it was, and it was just not what they expected, and others because these allegations were hot news at that time. It was fantastic though.
  15. That is brilliant...
  16. Do you think Glastonbury would have them so soon after Till's exposure? I know the case(s) was / were dropped, but I think it's all a bit too raw right now. Shame, they were brilliant in Cardiff.
  17. Not sure if that's a genuine comment, or a play on the term 'em' but either way it deserves a like, be it for kindness, or creativity... 🙈🤣
  18. F**k 'em (Edit: Sorry, I dunno what's come over me today... I mean, I know others don't like him, but it's who I want to see, not who I think others want to see.)
  19. I presume we're talking pure fantasy here, not necessarily realistic prospects? Ren The Streets Dillinja Hybrid Minds Venbee Luude Wilkinson (yes again.. Can happily bring Becky along for the ride too) Coldplay Florence ATM The Killers O-Rod Avril Holly Humberstone Sam Fender Prodigy Pendulum BMTH Bullet FMV Creeper Biffy Clyro Nas Jurassic 5 Eminem Outkast (reunion) Realistically though, there's only 3 or 4 on there that are even remote possibilities 😕 So I'd be happy if the rumoured Streets, Avril, Coldplay, and BMTH could be joined by Prodigy. 🙂 (Edit: I just realised I included some who would probably be Pyramid headliners too... But never mind haha)
  20. Thanks Philip, yes I struggled last year, set unrealistic goals, lacked motivation in the first place, and completely lost all motivation when I wasn't hitting those goals. Although to be fair, I did stay 'fit' last year, I was doing a lot of hill hiking and camping, I just wasn't doing too well at watching what I ate. So ultimately I didn't struggle for fitness at Glasto or beyond, but I didn't really achieve my goals in terms of weight loss, pretty much ended the year where I started. (After losing some and then gaining some etc etc.) It doesn't really agree with me either, (nobody should really be going too fast.) But I put on 5 stone since lockdown overall, and with everything going on in my other hobby this year, it's an ideal time in terms of motivating factors. So I just need to shift some of that 5 stone as quickly as possible (whilst building fitness somewhat) then shift my focus completely to fitness. That's the plan anyway, we'll see how it goes. If I stay on track until March 16th, and hit, or get close to, that goal, it will be easy from there. As I'll be walking up to, or over, 20k steps most days, either at theme parks or hill walking and wild camping... But I gotta hit that goal first, because if I have to suffer the embarrassment of having my restraints forced closed by staff, then I will lose motivation and, like last year, just won't visit parks as much, then it's all downhill from there. Anyway, this years 'feels' different to last year... 💪🤞
  21. Thanks. 🙂 Winter is hard in more ways than one, definitely makes you want to snack more, but also makes exercising outdoors more of drag. Christmas was tough, I just didn't weigh myself for 2 weeks, and enjoyed it, but more sensibly than usual. Had a really good first few weeks of the year though. Food is the biggest factor by far. But they only advise a maximum calorie deficit from food of 1000 calories, which apparently yields up to 2lb loss a week. Any more than a 1000 calorie deficit from food means you're dropping too far below your base metabolic rate, and is apparently quite dangerous. They don't really advise losing more than 2lb a week full stop, but lots of experts suggest that if it's achieved with increased activity, rather than cutting too much food, then it should be safe, although may lead to an increased risk of putting it back on later. 😕 So to maximise my losses, because I'm inpatient, I've been doing lots and lots of walking. (Which obviously helps with fitness for Glasto too.) I've discovered a new food hack recently. I really find cereals filling and I genuinely enjoy them, things like weetabix or shredded wheat especially. 2 weetabix with milk is only around 200-250 Kcal, but will fill me up for hours. Only problem is, I only like them with a good amount of Sugar. I've tried granulated sweetener before, and it just tasted rank, so always ended up skipping these healthy cereals when trying to lose weight. That was until I discovered Canderel Sugarly... What a game changer, tastes amazing on cereals. Now I can grab a filling 200-250 calorie snack / small meal that will fill me for hours any time. It really seems to help me feel fuller most of the time. 🙂
  22. Last week's weigh in was good... Don't think this week's will be anywhere near as good. I've been strict on the diet, but have done zero additional walking / exercise due to 'life,' and my losses so far have been massively helped by increased walking. Think we're going to ease back in tomorrow, after our week off, by doing the Carsington Water circular walk. A nice 8 miles that is pretty flattish. Anyway, 1 stone to go before March 16th.... Definitely cutting it a bit fine!!! I've decided that once I hit the March target date, the next target will be to lose another 1.5 stone before Glastonbury.
  23. Yeh, or, making mistakes but plastering it with 'draft' was a clever way to get people wondering.... Either way 👎
  24. Aren't those clashfinders just taken from these 2 'leaked' (read 'possibly fake') posters? AFAIK anybody can make a clashfinder... So I think that those clash finders are just fans putting their hopes in one of these being true.
