  1. Tickets for this year bought on the line up alone! Some acts I wished I'd seen but missed at Glastonbury and some I've never seen but really want to! I hope it does well! πŸŽͺ🎢
  2. I'm less than 40 and reasonably fit and healthy and I definitely can't hack standing for hours on end! I don't mind the sitters at all! I'll just creep on past if I need too. Which I rarely do because I'm too busy sitting at the back. Maybe pick up your picnic blanket if you're in the pit of a 200,000 strong crowd but apart from that I'm with those in their camping chairs! πŸͺ‘
  3. 1. Elton 2. The Lottery Winners 3. Maggie Rogers (4. Then The Hives and Texas)
  4. This was deffo one of my highlights too! We went from this to Blondie / Elton - a 'tent' of about 50 people to that Elton crowd is something you could only do at Glasto! I didn't have the best year, weirdly, but I think that was down to our camping situ (we were f'king miles away) and it was bloody hot. You win some... Just makes me all the more eager for a ticket next year! Best bits for me: The people - We met some absolute crackers. I always felt like everyone was looking out for each other! T&C fields - live comedy, circus performers, walkabouts, bar staff! They were all brilliant. It was always a nice place to be. Food - it was f**king delicious! All of it! I rediscovered my love of the food in the Green Fields and I had late night crumble! Toilets - I never queued for a toilet once! If you just travelled a little further there was always a free long drop! The music - I was sceptical when they released the line ups but I thought everyone I saw was excellent. They all had that 'we're at Glastonbury' moment and I found the sound and screens to be better than ever.
  5. It took us 11 hours to get back to Northumberland yesterday - with a couple of stops! Exactly the same with the long shower, sofa, pizza ordered πŸ• and highlights on the tele! Now beggineth the clean eating, litres of water and a sh*t ton of aftersun! Going for a run / sea dip tonight as well! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸŒŠ
  6. It's the Insta generation! They want the "there I was" moment on the tele. I'm not really sure how they could ban them - I mean you're not allowed coke or glass bottles either but I saw plenty of those over the weekend too!
  7. I love this! I mentioned it to my other half on Sunday! It deffo makes for a different festival! We love a good whinge don't we! A couple of things I've noticed over the last 2 festivals (since Covid): 1. The festival is busier, we know they upped the ticket numbers but there are definitely more people in general! Staff / security / scousers! Generally it doesn't matter, you can still escape the crowds if you need to, but it means getting in for anyone you want to see means having to sacrifice at least one or two acts before. 2. The new one way systems and pinch points don't work! Have they got new security this year? I felt like none of them new the festival at all and were just pointing people in random directions! 3. I was in B&W campervans (for the first time) this year and the bus system just didn't work! - We waited 40 mins for the bus to leave on Thursday morning. While the driver had a coffee, bacon sandwich, piss then waited for more people to get on! We left an hour and 30 to make it into the gates but were still late! - The buses got stuck in traffic a lot, which meant for a very hot and sticky journey with no air!! - The queue on the Sunday night took 2 hours just to get on a bus! Still had a great time! I think it'll just be a different festival ongoing.
  8. I'm staying up by Cheddar on the Mon night, purely because I'm in B&W campers this year (which I've never done before) I'm hoping the drive around to B&W on the Tuesday arvo will be OK and it won't take hours to get in. Anyone got any info on arrival into the camper fields? It says they open from 12 on Tuesday. β›Ί I'll then aim for wristbands / entry about 12-1pm on the Wednesday and head straight for the nearest pub. (Probs Tolpuddle at that end!)
  9. Ah that's so exciting! Mega congrats!! πŸ™ŒπŸ»
  10. https://clashfinder.com/ Pretty much does this! Maybe not by genre but it'll tell you who's on where!
  11. Bimble Inn Trickets Avalon Cockmills Cider Bus 🍻
  12. Woohoo! Mine arrived, 2 tickets and a CV pass. πŸ™ŒπŸ» 3 days after the dispatch email.
  13. I almost went solo in 2014 when no one I know wanted to go (?) I volunteered with Oxfam that year and did end up going with friends, but it was a close one. I've struck out alone to see bands when people i was with didn't fancy it. You'll never be without a conversation if you want one. Stood queuing for a drink, sat in the stone circle and obviously stood watching a band. People will always be willing to chat and you'll inevitably find someone who's going to the next band etc. I randomly got chatting to some people from the same village as me while watching Paul Mac - they heard my accent and we got chatting and boom, friends made!
  14. I'm weighing up the idea of bringing a backpack round with me all day, this year. Something I've always tried to avoid previously. I normally just chuck a couple of beers and my purse/ticket in a little bag! We're up in the campervan fields this year and I don't fancy that walk just to get a topup of beer / my jacket! Any ideas on carrying beers greatly received.
  15. You could always try one of these: https://www.andescamping.co.uk/99577-andes-ramada-120l-backpack.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwyLGjBhDKARIsAFRNgW9RDVMRmupUwsIc27FEKESFQuf8crb6cphTUcE4MDGwnFWk6ZV4yrIaAu27EALw_wcB#174=&175=&178=&182=Olive Green
  16. Always at least a couple if acts per year I want to see, in there! Not to mention the Ale bar next door (which was a little bit lacking in '22 πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ) I'm definitely one of those wander in/wander out kind though. I go for the one act then move on.
  17. Fully agreed! I love FBS but I've seen him lots and he'd just not a headline material anymore. πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
  18. I know this comes down to personal preference. I wouldn't, for example, know much about the Silver Hayes line up. But for me this years lineup has left me very underwhelmed. Looking at other festival lineups across the world, Glastonbury doesn’t stand up. I was also really disappointed with the headliner announcement - From all the people touring/with new album releases this year I thought this would be a stellar line up and for me, it isn’t! Of course, it’s still Glastonbury and it just means I go and spend more time in smaller tents listening to great music I’d never heard of!
  19. Set up my laptop on my treadmill this morning! Walked 5k steps so far. Sitting behind a desk all day is a killer for festival season! Van's in for a heater fix. Although I hope I'm not going to need it for the next 4 months! 😐 Need to order an awning rail so I don't have to tie it down this year. Sampling of Brothers cider flavours continues this evening. So far, Festival Apple and Cherry Bakewell are the top!
  20. Massive good luck to everyone trying for you or someone else today! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

    65 Days

Eeek! I'm silly excited already - still taking regular 'breaks' form work to change up my packing list. After last weekends trip in the van it's become obvious he now needs a lot of work to be ready! So that's my weekends busy between now and June 19th! I spent more time in the T&C fields last year than ever before - it's an awesome side of the festival! Arguably more 'Glastonbury' than some of the music stages!

    Glastocam!

Great photos @Crazyfool01! Thanks for sharing! 😍
  23. Love this! I'm sure I've seen it before but had completely forgotten so thanks for the jolly thread! If anyone has any camper van specific hacks they want to throw my way I'd gladly take them, it's my first year not camping this year!
  24. Paid up for the two of us! I must've checked my bank account 30 times to make sure it's all gone out. It was a hefty hit this year and even though I know it's coming I'm still always underprepared for the payment and end up whacking it on my credit card. I have 2 x tickets to try for friends in the resale.
