    Sunday Sub

That's where I am - happy to still see almost 2 hours of Elton after Caroline is finished - but how the hell do we get into the Pyramid field? Talk of the Pyramid field being closed / full at the start of the Stones has me worried (my own experience was trying to get into Pyramid field from up through Hawkwell, so Woodsies side, and it just being impossible to get into the field and then having to go all the way round - this will be Sunday rather than Saturday + me being 10 years older)

Anyone know how were they at Coachella? will be interested to hear how well their shows are received in Cardiff / IOW...

Fair enough - plus I know it's not always the case, but feels like most legends slots go to acts that haven't had much history with the festival. Blondie have definitely passed through Glastonbury whereas Yusuf just nearly-played (similar to Kylie actually, not the same reason but pulling out and then taking a long time before finally reappearing as the legend)

Ignoring all of my own points, and the poster, I feel like Yusuf is the legend. Happy to let the flashmob folk decide though 😛

You know how this works at least - either go anyway and find out that you were right, or have a look at the lineup and realise that you'd rather be at Joey Bada€€

So it's officially the Foos 😄 Actually excited to see them mid-afternoon whereas I wasn't pushed when they headlined. Sorry to kill another puppy, but I reckon it will definitely be with guests - given Dave was happy to jump on stage with Paul. Lots of RHCP spin on some of the rumours, so maybe Flea?

Best glasto-budget ever - should let them run the country
  8. Ticket arrived this morning! A surprise as I'd been looking out for a dispatch email 😄 Just need new sack-truck wheels to arrive now - they're the opposite situation, I've had 3 out-for-delivery texts in the last 4 days but no delivery (EVRi, sack of sh*t)

Legend spot belongs to Blondie this year currently both Blondie & Yusuf are allocated 75 minute slots (last year DiRo had 75 and Elbow afterwards had only 60) Last year the slot started at 4pm, this year it's a smudge around those times, Yusuf at 3:15, Blondie at 5:00 (which of those sounds more like tea time?) Blondie on second, nearer to being a headline out of the two legends Last year's clashfinder stats have ~50% of people saying they'd go to see DiRo, Blondie have about the same (at the moment) this year whereas Yusuf is about half that amount Personally looking forward to Yusuf and sticking around for a bit of Blondie - if it's busy for Yusuf it's people who've arrived early for Blondie - so Blondie are definitely this year's legends (it's official!)
  10. So many options! I assumed I'd just go for a wander - starting to get FOMO now and potentially a need to start planning beyond 11pm. I'd give both those a go and so many other things being mentioned on this page
  11. Does the Strummerville timeslot suit any better? Saturday at 6pm, would like to get to see her at some point too!
  12. He's got GnR til 23:45 and then VTSS @ Arcadia 02:00 (or Barry at 03:00, Stonebridge), assume it should be easier to move in and out of that field by then so no need to be there straight from the Pyramid and wait for 2 hours! I'd be looking at options too
  13. Showhawk Duo @ Bimble Inn? I definitely need to catch them at some point, loving them. Bit of a trek from Pyramid but I think there's time... edit - if showhawk take your fancy they're finishing not long before VTSS (I'll have a listen) start and the right side of the site
  14. Never even thought of this! any idea where stalls are in CV fields? I've probably walked straight past them or sat looking at them for hours 😄 Same - could swear I've seen it labelled as something non-public before too! Can't imagine they would fill all of either side of the road overnight, assume they want to keep their options open to have both sides able to take cars off the road during rush hour in the morning
  15. Absolutely. And treat questions on the internet that don't make sense as hypothetical 🙂 Based on it being hypothetical, even though I've posted above that I've never used it, I've voted gate D. Assuming at this point you haven't decided 'where' to camp Gate D is loaded with camping options as soon as you come through the gate, whereas gates B & C you still have a bit of a walk to most fields / not too many options on hand immediately. Also D has parking right outside the gate - obviously massive amounts of luck to get the perfect parking spot and you might end up across the road in Pink - but aiming for C at the very least you have to navigate your way through the campervan fields and then hope your parking spot isn't too far beyond them. So for the Walks part of the question D wins hands down, A second best, then B, then C (we usually aim for Big Ground, so for us Gate preference is almost the exact opposite of this, choosing gate based on camping position as per @jow95. With regards to queue length - if you're arriving early enough they're all pretty decent. After that any one of them can become a turding sh*t-show based on many factors and they all do amazingly well to get 20-40k [complete guess] through them on a Wednesday (stadiums handling smaller crowds will have many more gates and fewer bags to check)! The pictures above of queues at gate A are amazing but I think there's a similar volume of people at each one, they're just not as good a photo opportunity. B for example is a big wide looong funnel, C starts on the side of a hill and then meanders through the campervans - so by 8am they possibly all have ~10k people at them, I'm making that number up but would love to know.
  16. Just spotting that car parks were actually open earlier last year too? Presumably that was due to train strikes - wasn't there sadly - and then everyone just did what they could to arrive. Nice weather, the option to arrive a bit earlier, trains not being an option - guess last year 'shouldn't' be an indicator for future years (though there's always been a trend of maintaining earlier arrival in subsequent (sunny/dry) years, regardless what caused it the previous year. e.g. football, or something daft like that). So last year A might have flowed better than normal for people arriving from cars, if they were prioritising coach arrivals but not coach + bus arrivals.
  17. '05 - B ~11am - parked really close, walked straight in '09 - A by bus ~8am - shortish queue '10 - B ~7:30am - parked really close, sh*t-show, took hours '11 - C ~7:30am - long-steady march to the gate and quickly through it '13 - A by car ~5pm Thursday - long-long walk, straight through gate '14 - B pre 8am, can't remember much - probably parked close to gate, probably took a couple of hours to queue in '15 - B same as 2014, probably '16 - A by car ~8am - car slow to get in (nothing compared to East), long-long walk, quick through gate '17 - C ~1am - long-long walk to gate, not too far back in the queue '19 - C ~1am - long-long walk to gate, not too far back in the queue So no D for me, walked through that way to help get stuff from a car. B has been great for car being close to where we end up camping - but if you ended up way back in the queue (regardless of gate) and thought you wouldn't get your preferred pitch I'd probably prefer to be on the A/D side with more camping options. Tuesday evening I'd go B/C
  18. Bloody hell - is that because they had forced the queue to form from E18 and then let it through nearer to gates opening, or do you reckon one big long queue all the way to the gate?
  19. Fair point - I've generally done B & C due to parking on East most often, my experience of A was arriving by train, arriving very late another year, and also 2016, none of which bear any relation to what it might normally be like (esp. late Tues / early Wed by car). Even where people have done multiple gates they're hitting them with different circumstances each time.
  20. What time did you get there last year? Seems like lots of people mentioning trying to arrive earlier than 9pm Tuesday with campervan friends, so I guess it's starting to get backed up earlier...
  21. Always found myself going towards A when parked across the road (Pink?) - not lined up with parking directly beside it, but neither is C if you're in a car, you've a trek through other stuff to get there.
  22. Anyone spot this? Added to their Facebook yesterday - I've been trying to look for random little acts that I've added to spotify without success - could swear there was another green futures tent already announced, anyone remember which one?
  23. That would be great - Maisie Peters though, assume she's on Other or Pyramid?
  24. Can imagine this poster changing! Lottery Winners on Thursday would probably get more people than they can cope with too
