  1. I guess a different way of looking at it - and hopefully Wizkid sees it this way after his entire crowd disappears after Fred - is he could be absolutely huge on the tv audience. It'll be dark, there will be people there having the time of their lives, and the BBC are pretty good at misrepresenting things. If he's selling out stadiums then sod Glastonbury if they don't give him a decent audience. Or, highly likely, sod clashfinder if the few of us who know about it aren't the Wizkid crowd.
  2. Sounds like it was broken?
  3. No guarantees sadly. Unless the cart came with a guarantee? If you're genuinely worried about it, have a think about what the worst situation would be (hopefully that results in something that isn't too scary, and hey, you'll be fine) and then try to plan for anything specifics that might go wrong - e.g. have some water with you in case you're stranded in the blistering heat. If your cart goes wrong it probably won't happen until you're miles away from both your car and the entry gate (Sod's law, someone will be along with a progression to that law in a minute). Main thing I'd be trying to do is to pack as light as possible.
  4. Early arrivals should aim for gate A and start queueing straight away though 😉 Edit: Not actual advice!
  5. Big chunky wheels? You'll be grand - take it steady. If you're struggling by the time you get through whatever gate you go for then find the nearest property lockups (left into Bushy Ground if you come through D, or straight in front of you if A) and dump half your stuff until a bit later in the day after you've found your home.
  6. Now that I've figured out how to look at this - last year Burna Boy had 7.1% selections (for an Other support slot); whereas Wizkid has 3.5% for a headline. Some extra people might have arrived early and watched BB for a good spot at Megan - Wizkid won't have those extra people, everyone will have f**ked off to other headliners, and that's half the popularity of Megan. Wizkid got a mention and a play on Worthy FM earlier - very excited for this one they are.
  7. Stewards will direct you into a car park, if you go the same side as last year then you'll be in Pink or Orange but don't really get a choice - but after that you can decide whether you want to walk towards A or D with your stuff. Can't comment on how hilly D is - it's a farm sadly, so at least a bit 😄 Maybe you can camp a bit lighter if it's just yourself? Hopefully your cart is decent and it does all the work for you!
  8. I'd advise just walking in the direction of Dairy and keeping in contact with your friends who can tell you whether there's still a decent space or not (if they've not already abandoned camp 😄). If they reckon there isn't then be on the lookout for space as you pass through Bushy Ground, the field before Dairy, and if no look there then there's campsite steward bases in both of those fields who can tell you if your next best option is Baileys, Paines or South Park (hopefully someone here can advise too 🙂)
  9. Only just figured out how to find this - you had me baffled as I'd only seen the top 100 section. You can find this by switching to itinerary view (on your desktop rather than phone) and then clicking on the act
  10. I believe so, possibly the field 'Back House' towards the West of the site. Edit - sorry re-read your post/question and I've given the answer you'd already given to your own. Not sure what to add, don't know if there are any others beyond Back House, but certainly the concept of overflow camping fields has been there in the past, and I'm unsure when they would get opened.
  11. 1 8-man tent - 2 (scale going from 1 very hard to 10 easy) 1 1-man tent - 9
  12. Not terrible I'd say - but will depend how many and how big the tents are - you'll need a very quick march across the site to get to Kidney Mead, but (again assuming you don't have too many / too big tents) you'd have Big Ground as next best option which fills fast too but slightly less so.
  13. Haha - you're not missing out on a cultural masterpiece. As I went to share it just noticed U2 get the lead credit, so I'll pipe down on that one - don't think Elton is likely to be pressing play on that either
  14. Nope to rain on any of the days here too - Tuesday morning maybe, Tuesday afternoon onwards definite no

Brought a tear to my eye 🙂
  16. Cheers, that was about all I got from it too. Setlist.fm reckons he's played that song live 38 times (vs 2408 for Your Song), so I guess it would be pretty special if it got a play for Glastonbury. He's performed Bang a Gong exactly zero times, that would be truly awesome.
  17. My Elton research is now started and complete, we watched Rocket Man last night - properly up for it now 🙂 I was hoping it was going to explain who the Kiki Dee person some people keep wanging on about as I've been too lazy to google and too afraid to ask. She barely gets a mention so I'm none the wiser, anyone care to educate this heathen? For now I'm sticking with Bono (I'm sure Elton fancies a trip to Vegas in reciprocation)
  18. first come first served radio service? 🙂 The URL actually working pretty well - there was a brief gap or two but actually a proper improvement on what I was getting from TuneIn
  19. I was streaming via tunein over an alexa speaker-job - kept blanking and reloading. I've just gone back to the webplayer.net link given above and so far so better-but-not-great.
  20. Definitely reckon you need to decide either Lizzo or Mel C - reckon they'll be close to needing to shut the field, and if not it'll just be difficult to get into the tent. Might be nice outside the tent - I notice Avalon Cafe only has acts during the gap when stuff not on the main Avalon stage, so less sound bleed at least. I've been listening to some of Jake's stuff and actually quite looking forward to seeing that too, and Gabriel Aplin will be great. Missing Lizzo will be tough still
  21. I've been looking at this stretch of hours into Wednesday morning for the last few days, since it came into their 7-day window, to help decide when we're arriving. In the last few days it's hardly changed at all, 40% maybe became 30% and vice-versa, and I think the 07:00 cloud has gone from light grey to dark grey just now. Seems highly unlikely that they'd model it to have low-level rain for periods on both Tuesday & Wednesday, but that 12-hour window has been totally dry - if they actually think there's rain either side of the window shouldn't it shift a bit more as they run each model?
  22. I'll happily take a medal 🎖️
  23. I can only assume (my last Wednesday 7am train boarding was 2009, @ Westbury so couldn't have been a train from Bristol) that it will be incredibly rammed. The train will still stop, and you'll maybe have some grumpy people blocking the doorway telling you there's no space, if so you'll have to push your way past so the less stuff you've packed the better! Don't expect a seat and be thankful that it's a very short journey.
  24. Best form of shade is a (rainless, before NFC**ts pipe up) cloud - then you don't need to go in search of sweaty tents and when you do want to see something in a tent it's not already packed with people not really bothered about what you're there for.
