  1. Incredibly excited for this. Saw him at MEN Arena in 2003, he played over 3 hours. One of the few people that is so famous you’re starstruck as soon as he walks on stage. Then there’s so many songs. Totally agree on his band, they were amazing 9 years ago, same at Glastonbury 04, they seem even better now. His voice might be shot but balls to it, it’s Paul McCartney on the Pyramid. This is absolutely the last time this will happen and it will be all about the collective experience, which will be something else. After the last two years, the cancelled festivals and everything else, try and imagine yourself in that field at 9pm Saturday June 25 as the actual real Paul McCartney walks on stage and clangs into A Hard Days Night. I’ve got goosebumps just picturing it.
  2. Totally agree. Especially this year with all the uncertainty and cancelled tours. They’ve really pulled it out of the bag.
  3. Foals/Fatboy/Pet Shop Boys v Eilish/McCartney/Kendrick I reckon that looks about right
  4. I’ve always assumed it’ll be Fatboy. “Thanks for all the gigs over the years and being part of the furniture, and cheers for stepping up for the 50th, we were gonna nod to your relationship with the festival but it’s not the 50th now so could you p**s off back to a smaller stage. You’re not as important now.”
  5. Great post. Hard agree.
  6. I don’t care what Maccas voice is like, him walking out on the Pyramid and hitting that guitar clang at the start of A Hard Days Night will see me absolutely losing my shit.
  7. But sometimes we don’t know the unknown unknowns. Or even the unknown knowns.
  8. But what else would we do?
  9. Ah I see, thanks. That would be a surprise but, well, that’s Glastonbury.
  10. Is Kendrick expected on Saturday night?
  11. Blimey, I step out for a few hours driving and they’ve announced THE GREATEST GLASTONBURY LINE UP EVER
  12. His recent stuff-since he got a bit more adventurous-has been very good. I passed on pretty much his whole solo career until that Best Of he released, but when I listened to that I was really surprised. Flying on the Ground, Holy Mountain, Black Star dancing, Rattling Rose, Blue moon rising, We’re on our way now are all really good and most of them don’t sound like Oasis. Never seen him with HFB and not sure I’d pay £60+ for a standalone gig so I’m really hoping he’s there.
  13. I think it’s something I pretty much made up on the last page. I like it though.
  14. Thought the guy with the info said same slot as Billie last time?
  15. Yeah I agree. Can’t see the Specials that high these days. Would split the crowd but Fender a much bigger draw.
  16. Ah, the ‘break up the Legends slot crowd’ booking. Big one, that.
  17. If it’s the Stones I’ll pay £100 to Water Aid
  18. That absolutely looks like a Glastonbury line up. It’s got all the ingredients. 1) The initial disappointment as a quick scan reveals some favourites I hoped would be there aren’t 2) On closer inspection a hell of clashes 3) Some positions I find a bit odd but others wouldn’t 4) A couple of ‘oh yeah, them, forgot about them’ acts It’s all there
  19. Do you mean it’s not Macca being announced tonight or he isn’t doing it?
  20. Hi, welcome on board 😄
  21. Dunno what demographic I’m in then. Fat, middle aged white guy who would want to see both Pet Shop Boys and Kendrick and have to choose if they’re against each other, but probably go for Kendrick as while I’ll singalong much less, it feels more significant. Not sure what my point is beyond I dunno what the ‘Glastonbury demographic’ is.
  22. I’m probably in a minority but I think he might. He’s playing decent venues elsewhere on his tour.
  23. It would be an absolutely huge booking. It would mean them losing Kenny and somehow getting someone bigger. That’s actually the reason why I’m not sure it’ll happen. He can tour stadiums.
  24. Or Chris Martin can put together a supergroup, 2015-style
