  1. It's Little by Little I could live without but according to setlist fm he plays that all the time
  2. Agree on all of that, including the Live Forever bit (in place of Whatever for me, which didn't quite work). Wouldn't have minded Flying on the Ground or If I Had a Gun from HFB either. I pencilled Noel in mainly due to Macca proximity and because I haven't seen him before, but really enjoyed it.

Friday day tickets went long ago even though Nutini has released nothing for 7 years until a few weeks ago (granted that’s a stronger day with Fender on the bill). It’s not a conclusive reason not to but unless there’s a dramatic turnaround he’d be way way down the list.

I was already convinced this was a wind up. This just confirms it. Stop falling for it people.
  5. Anderson Paak Duran Duran Tears for Fears War on Drugs Drive By Truckers Gaslight Anthem Chvrches Confidence Man (in a much bigger slot) Garbage Elton John Death Cab for Cutie Roosevelt The National
  6. Same here. I opted for them over Jack White because I was heading to Lonely Hearts Club for Gabriels after and couldn’t be arsed trekking. Really enjoyed Elbow, surprised me a bit.
  7. I really felt for them. They were late IIRC and then needed the audience to help fix the sound. Shame.

Fingers crossed. Can’t see him doing too many more massive tours (though McCartney shows it’s possible) so a couple of chances to see him would be very welcome. He’s definitely got a legendary Pyramid set in him too, if he wants it. (Springsteen, not Ezra 😉)
  9. I don’t agree with the generalisations about the Dance music crowd at all. I do think it’s a fair point about it being too predominant though. It doesn’t even have to be live stuff but there could be more decent sized venues playing the kind of stuff they have in Williams Green, Stonebridge etc. More rock, soul, funk, pop etc.
  10. There was definitely something on Friday. I couldn’t go back from the Unfairground back into the IICON field.

Can’t see it. His day at TRNSMT is the lowest seller of the three and that’s on homeish turf. Make a great sub.

Yeah something like that! Work in Streets of Philadelphia somewhere and you’d have a worldie. Looking at his tour dates I don’t think it’s him though.

He’s done festivals since and made a much better fist of it IIRC
  15. Beabadoobee on the JP. Good tunes but absolutely zero stage presence Gabriels on Lonely Hearts Club was ruined by sound issues. Thats it really which is pretty good
  16. Yeah there is that 😆 If I’m on the coach again, or a flight/coach/bus combo as I did this year, the idea of travelling light/not having to pack up early Sunday is pretty alluring
  17. Search for the get_Iplayer app. A thing of absolute wonder.
  18. Same as you with both them songs actually 😆 Some US shows got We can work it out instead of Mr.Kite which I would infinitely have preferred
  19. Probably trying to cut fuel costs where they can too
  20. Definitely not. I’m 45 now and the aches and tiredness are getting worse. However the last 3 times I’ve been I’ve had to take a Thursday Coach ticket and it’s actually been a revelation. Had to a of energy left Sunday evening. So Thursday arrival only for me, might even splash out on WV next time for extra convenience. This year was brilliant though, I’ll definitely be trying for next year
  21. Yes, this year was my 9th and it was brilliant. There’s always issues for them to work on, it’s an ever evolving thing. It’s also true to say that at 45 I’m starting to really hate sleeping in a tent but the issues haven’t put me off in the past and won’t this year.
  22. Same. Haven’t processed it yet, all a bit overwhelming. One for the ages.
  23. I think it’s modern attention spans or something. Yes there’s an art to judging a festival setlist and it needs to skew more towards crowd pleasers. However big acts aren’t just going to bin their entire setlist that’s been filling stadiums. He had Beatles stuff dotted throughout the first half along with stuff from very high selling Wings albums and the new stuff. Second half was all crowd pleasers along with special guests that have also headlined Glastonbury and sell out stadiums.
  24. It certainly seemed a bit busier in parts with the odd pinch point. I do think there was an element of unfamiliarity with the festival though. It’s always been very busy. Definitely some weird scheduling though. I guess the lack of festivals last two years has made it hard to judge some of the placements. That’s no excuse for not knowing the likes of TLC and Sugababes would get big crowds though. Hopefully next year will be better on that front.
