What did you do when everything shut down at 1am or so? Were you not bothered about only being allowed to drink in certain areas?

It's actually not a venue as far as I know, it's a tourist attraction. Cercle are good at getting access to locations you'd think they wouldn't be able to.

Jungle isn't normally my thing but Carl Cox and Chase & Status doing a jungle set sounds like fun, there will be a crazy crowd at that.

They’ve had time to dream up new ideas. Hard to see where the money will come from to put those ideas into reality though, no world tour for the spider thanks to covid. Maybe the festival will bank roll them but they probably aren’t flush either after 3 years of no income. I think if it’s the crane it’ll be unchanged from 2019 and if it’s the spider it’ll probably be the same as in 2017.

I think Glasto are happy enough to let the techno festivals cater to the niche sub genres. Awakenings is what you need.

This is true. But I often wonder what they’re at. I flew through Dublin airport last week on an afternoon, I’m currently in France. I’d rolled and smoked a blunt that morning before I flew. I used a bag as hand luggage that regularly has weed in it. My hands and bag were swabbed going through security, the machine said no alarm I saw the screen myself. They didn’t look in my bag. Then on the way to the gate I was randomly pulled aside and my hands and bag were swabbed again and returned the same result. When I arrived at my current location and emptied my hand luggage I discovered a 4 inch steak knife in the bottom of my bag that I didn’t know was there. No idea how it ended up in there either. @TASHMA BWABWEthe number of mules getting caught at airports is tiny compared to number of seizures in ports.

@TASHMA BWABWE If a baggage handler that roiled a joint before his shift touched your bag the dogs wouldn’t be able to detect that trace. If you had actual weed in your bag they would. The police likely targeted those individuals because they were intoxicated, it may have had nothing to do with the dogs. My brother works in security at airports. He’s worked all over Europe. He also works with companies to help them achieve and maintain known consignor status. Nobody moves drugs in quantities through airports anymore, or at least very rarely. But terrorists are constantly trying to invent new forms of explosives and methods to get them onto planes.

Yeah because explosives are metal? I don’t mean to be rude but you’ve no idea what you’re talking about here. After the spate of terrorist attacks in the UK and Europe in the 2010s they had dogs at glasto checking for explosives. Something like glasto is an obvious target, massive dense crowds etc. That’s why they would be looking for explosives. If they had drug dogs at glasto 75% of people wouldn’t get in. Has that ever happened? They were looking for Semtex and homemade fertiliser bombs not grenades or whatever you’re thinking of. You know when they your swab your hands or hand luggage in airports? That’s for explosives not drugs.

I wouldn’t I’d be kicked out in half an hour there’s way too many rules.

Why is this festival so popular? As a festival to attend it looks absolutely awful. I understand why glasto is popular but this one is lost on me.

He’s in real danger of disappearing up in own arse these days if his Instagram is anything to go by but I do like his music. On YouTube there’s a good gig from the Park stage a few years back.

Pretty much the same for my crowd. I think we will be split between Bicep and Kendrick and we’ll all be at Macca.

She’ll probably have the smallest crowd of the headliners but who cares? As long as they get the mix right and the crowd can hear her it’ll be fine. Not that I’ll be there.

Hmmm I must try and get over to printworks before it closes. When is it likely to happen?

If it’s muddy it’s going to be tough. I remember seeing parents trying to push kids in buggies through the quagmire in 2016 and it looked like a proper slog. But it’s not going to be muddy so you don’t need to worry. If I had kids it’s definitely an experience I would want them to have but I would probably bring them to a smaller festival than glasto because the scale is of no benefit to the kids and it just makes everything harder for the parents.

No sign of the crane to move though?

There is something special about genosys in monday morning daylight though, basically a field of swaying braindead zombies at that stage, just squeezing the last few drops out of the party.
