Oh, That's one of my overlays! I really should finish it soon
  2. Welcome to the club 😎 The umbrella ones are cool, however I insist on height and space, you've made the right choice B 89

Nothing to report from me at the moment. I'm just posting to say I love this thread and enjoy catching up on all the little 'tit bits' as the site grows. interesting times 👍
  4. Ah, after the infamous flood of 2005 - I was there - ME and GF invested a lot of money into drainage etc after that year, the bottom of the field won't ever flood again me thinks. However, on the miniscule chance of a repeat flood.... it's all crew camping now. Good call about the 'small valley'. You say the centre, I say it's a long shallow dip about 300 m below the park entrance, that runs diagonally from NW to SE. That does seem to hold water with the ground becoming very wet and boggy Fun fact, I found this out my self as I spend far to much time Glastobating... I noticed on an aerial shot ages ago, there was a definite long line of lush green grass as compared to the normal green grass running from the park, down in a South East direction thru Pennards ending up by the railway line - another flood prone area. When I checked on some ancient maps - maybe 100 years old, there is a stream marked there. Probably filled in by the farmer at the time.

I just want to drive a tractor around the site. Am I weird? ( Rhetorical question blutarsky )
  6. Ive camped in Pennards for the last 12 Glasto's and loved it. I think the only unique thing about this field is it's location, it is probably the most central place to camp, hence it gets rammed full early on Wednesday morning. There's been both good and bad things said about it on this thread, some fair, some bollix. But lets face it, each year whatever field you choose it's your neighbours that make the experience, that can be a good thing or a nightmare.

    Glastocam!

So, if I was ever lucky enough to get a job with GF helping to around the site, my dream job would be driving one of these tractors. Picking up and towing these massive flat bed trailers to where they are needed. Listening to music in the cab. Maybe parking up at the top by the glasto sign for a pack lunch... ah, Glastonbury dreams 🤩 What are those long massive sheds top left? Is that where they keep the cows ?
  9. That's good to know, I hope mine will become easier with use.
  10. I can't remember it actually being there in 2019, but there are some steps down to a pedestrian ford about 10 meters west. Does anyone remember them? I can't imagine them being used come the festival ?
  11. Bloody hell Wayne, I had some difficulty putting the 2nd end of the poles into their slot/cylinders ! So much so I had to get my son to help. I was really afraid something was going to tear or rip. Did you have the same trouble? Do you reckon the fabric may stretch over time if I leave it up? Also above the inner tent I noticed some tiny pin pricks of light showing through the outer tent as if there were some micro holes. I'm looking forward to the rain with trepidation. I wont bother with pics, you've got that covered, but here's just the one. I have folded the front of the ground sheet under it's self. Means you can keep the door folded up in light rain without puddles forming. Also it's a great place to stand, holding onto the top while you pull off your muddy wellies. But of course we know it'll be a dry one this year 🙂
  12. Great pics thanks Wayne, if only I had seen this three days ago, I pa....... As I typed the above, there was a knock on my door and the tent was delivered!!! Anyway, I paid an extra £21 from the Decathlon website, No big deal, my turn to set it out in the garden 😃
  13. However I still bought the 4.1 F&B poles The air version is 15 kg as opposed to mine at 10kg and about £100 more expensive
  14. I went and looked around my nearest Decathlon store and was taken aback about how small these tents actually are 😮

That is a great snippet. I wonder if he's just arrived, hasn't been for three years and just gets out of his car and does a 'Happy Boogie' Am I the only one that stared at the curser and thought 'What! I can't see it' 😄

    Glastocam!

Yep, that will be one of my highlights this year. Pangea was ok, but I missed the spider in 2019. It's been 5 years!
  19. Mich1268! I have just read this thread from start to finish. My heart sunk when I read I am so glad you got it sorted, what relief you must feel, what a nightmare that must have been! Phew, I love a happy ending 🤩 Paul!!! You numpty 😄 I bet you also had a heart sinking moment, Im glad that's sorted. Anyway, I didn't even know you are both going this year, I am so glad to hear it. I'm guessing you're crew? Or if you're in the East C'van field I will see both of you on the Tuesday evening 😍

    Cinermageddon

KLF does look interesting, to those who have booked for any film, did you check for clashes first? Anyway, I saw some arty farty Julian what's'his'name film last Glasto Wednesday evening called Ibiza. Hmm, it was ok ish, but I still had a great time regardless. ME opened with a speech and Fatboy Slim did a great DJ set afterwards - silent disco style. It was a great evening, and YES they do have their own bar. Here's some snaps for those who haven't been yet.

I'm guessing this smallish crane behind the trees is erecting the big screen for Cineramageddon or whatever it is called.

Thanks for sharing Claire, it's always great to see close ups as the site build progresses 🙂
  23. 😄 Same here... almost - Actually I'm even more grateful as I was allowed to tick the 51 to 60 box rather than the 60+ box

Oh wow, that takes me back to when my son was about 4, I played with that more then he did.
  25. Interesting speculation about cashless/card payments. I can't imagine GF putting any caveats on E transactions in order to have a stall there. But I can see it's beneficial to have the wireless infrastructure in place for those stall holders who do want to take card payments etc. I think it's about giving a choice to the punter and stall keeper. I once bought a 'fluffy animal tail' for my young daughter. The stall holder did take cash but didn't take cards. She asked me if I had a PayPal account and if I didn't mind would I mind using that. So I payed like that on my phone. At the same time she checked on her phone and saw the transaction confirmed. Why she preferred PayPal - I don't know. I'm just glad there are lots of payment options.
