Not huge amounts possibly 75 no more than 100 but like you say, if people can budget for the ticket surely they could budget for a greater deposit as well?

Still think they should have thought about increasing the deposit. Would make paying the balance of a lot more palatable especially with that price hike.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but at v in 2000 me and my mates went to see the bloodhound gang (I know I know) we wanted a decent speck for joe strummer. Think they played glasto the same year as well. They got a lad up on stage and gave him a crate of ale, sat him in the corner of the stage and said if he could nail it before they finished the set they’d give him 200 quid. Was quite funny when you’re 19 I suppose.

I also think Tm take advantage of the casual concert goer in that they’re counting on these people not knowing about other ticket sites. For every 10 people who know about see and ticketline there’ll be one who doesn’t and stumps up stupid money for a ticket. I’ll confess I didn’t even think to try see yesterday and by the time I realised there was slim pickings left. Only got licks as I managed to get in just as they announced the 4th date in Manchester

This is still my favourite gig of theirs at Liverpool Uni the week before they headlined glasto. They even got Ian McCullough out to do lips like sugar.

Whilst at Liverpool Uni in 2001 me and my mates went to a bar not far from parr street studios for a few early scoops after lectures. we walk in and there's a fella in the corner benny hat on reading the paper with a pint. glance over and i swear its Chris Martin. tell my mates and they're not sure, anyway i time me going the bar the same as him. he lets onto me, deffo him, give him a quick "alright mate" back and forth and we go and sit back at our respective tables. takes his glass back the bar says something to the bar keep before he leaves gives us a nod and a "see you later lads" mate goes the bar for next round and its already been sorted by Mr Martin. Wont hear a bad said about them
