Ive got mine, and an 07 one, the numbers are long gone though. They're always a conversation starter at work .

Haha is keeping wristbands proportional to youre general cleanliness?
Ive got leeds 07,08 on. The worst one to still have on would be 05, they were frickin annoying. I think its well cool to always remember how mint the weekends were everytime you look at your hands

Currently carrying
Leeds 06 and 07
V 2008
Glasto 2008
on my right arm
I am left handed so they do not bother me , and give a bit of colour when I have my dark work suit
on !
Cannot see they bother me , but I do cut the spare right to the metal clasp ASAP !

I had to take mine off when they begin to smell. Especially the fabric ones.
I still have my 2008 one as I'm going to claim my free crate of lager next year!!

A combination of myth, exaggeration and old rules.
I've still got '07 and '08 on. I wash them every time I wash myself. If anything it's more hygienic than wearing a bracelet every day, you'd never wash a bracelet you could take off.
As for why - it's a good conversation starter and souvenier.

I had a fair few various Leeds/Glasto/V Festival wristbands on up until a few months ago when I had to have an MRI scan and cut them all off
, I only left them on because I couldn't be bothered taking them off at first, in the end I got attached.

every festival I have ever been to without exception, afterwards, pull up to the house move tent from car to house, go into kitchen, find scissors and cut off wristband. They irritate me beyond belief and am always happy to get rid of. They do however go into a box of stuff that I keep.
