  1. me too, going out for a walk now though, and planning to get back on the healthy eating stuff too. I know I will feel better for it, its just getting motivated for me anyhow 😬
  2. can I pop in for a cup of tea next time? 🫖 😄
  3. I went to this on Saturday and really enjoyed it. Caught a couple of talks in the information area and watched a few artists, Amyl, Primal and Aphex were amazing. Felt that they had really thought about sustainability, eco loos etc. some good alcohol free options (I don't drink anymore) & reasonable prices. There was also an after party in Lost Horizons that was pretty decent. Will definitley keep an eye out for line up next year

    Other Festivals

I concur, Boomtown is off the charts production and fun. I was a bit hesitant about going the first time as rumours made it sounds a bit hardcore but I am so glad I went. Still my fave festival. Has a unique edge to it but I like that and I think they care more about sustainability than some other festivals.
  5. Great write up! Thanks for sharing. Really want to volunteer at some point, I just worry that my back would play up and I would be useless.
  6. I was outside the tent at fishermans friend, and had just laid back about 5 seconds earlier, was great timing to get a fab view!

kind of. it meant I ended the festival in such a bad way, cranky and in a whole lot of pain. 😬
  8. I feel like I managed quite a lot better than previous years, I had taken on some long walks in prep but not too much weight or resistance training. I have chronic pain in my lower back and left hip, along with a dodgy knee too, all still recovering. I surprised myself by taking on extra weight in my rucksack on the way back to help my very, very hungover husband. Just struggled to get the backpack on and off but once it was there, I could cope alright with it. Most painful thing was standing still, need to ramp up my back and core exercises.
  9. It sounds like you might be in touch already with the access team but I would highly recommend spring ground if that would make it easier for you, and possibly applying for a PA depending on your circumstances. I have camped at SG for the last few times I have been, I have a +1 access requirement but don't apply for a PA as we get a ticket for my husband who usually helps. However, I am rethinking that as I realise I can't/shouldn't rely 100% on him. 😑

My highest number of steps was around 48k on Sunday, I am still recovering (i have a bad back and dodgy knees anyway). My very drunken crew decided to go back to the tent in spring ground at peak elton, to get warm clothes - basically a drip from SE - Woodsies and back again, on top of what we had already done that day.
  11. The worst experience for me was trying to see Nia Archives at the Nowhere stage on Thursday. We arrived about 30 mins before her set and was promptly caught in a very big crowd that got worse quickly. I think it was too small an area for her. I am usually quite bad with crowds - though better than I have been in the past. This crowd got so bad so quickly that it was very difficult even to turn round, couldnt move my arms at one point too. Be interested to know if it was all like that or just trying to get close.
  12. Really wish I had made it to Leftfield, I also meant to spend more time in the Green Fields/Healing Fields area. I managed to see the Rhizosphere and saw the awesome light/roots instilation there, but I really wanted to go back for some of the talks. Gutted I missed those.
  13. Will be really interested in what comes next. Hope they incorporate some of the incredible story/performances again.
  14. Just wondering how people got on who were thinking about going alcohol free this year? I managed it with the exception of a tonic and a friends G&T got mixed up and a got a swig of gin. Handed straight back. Didn't really feel too different from the gang I was with most of the time. But (boxed) "red wine sunday" was painful - 6 litres between three of them by mid afternoon. Plus I was the only one who ended up with red wine spilt on my white t-shirt 🤨
  15. I had some lovely food from No Bones Jones, and there was a lovely family run Jerk Place nearby the same area - had curried goat and the meat was so tender.. Worst was from a BBQ / Chicken place - cant quite remember where exactly but it was fairly near a green double decker breakfast bus. I was actually outraged - a tepid chicken breast that had been done in a pan, chunky chips and a traders BBQ sauce that you had to add on yourself - alongside "salad" which was just watery coleslaw. I am still bitter.
