If your haven't seen it yet, I would check out the swagger and dreamer match from ecw this week.

Pretty damn good imo.

also tj wilson, dh smith and natalya have been in dark matches as the foundation, could be interesting.

Right, there is bugger all going on for the next few weeks, so now seems like a good time to do the end of year awards. I'll do a points system.

For each section, you can have three picks, 1st pick gets 3 points, 2nd gets 2 points and 3rd gets one point. And in the New Year I'll tot up the marks and we'll have our annual E Fests Wrestling Thread Awards.

You think he's defiantly on his way back to wwe then? (christian), I wasn't so sure, but now tomko is, Rhyno's contract is up next spring, a stable of Edge, Christian, Tomko & Rhyno, damn that would be nice

Liam we should defiantly have the awards in a seperate thread, great idea

unfortunately rhyno's not likely as they probably have quite a stigma attached to him being an ecw original. Just a shame heyman doesn't do commentary anymore (is he even with the company?), when rhyno debuted the screams of GORE and the selling by jeff hardy made him look like a monster.

Heyman now writes an online column for the Sun [our Sun - UK]]

Its quite good stuff, here you go...

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/wrestling/heyman/

Heyman was excellent on Commentary, Id say the best commentating team since the days of Bobby Heenan/Jesse Venture/early Lawler

You need a solid heel commentator, and WWE hasn't had one since 1995 other than Heyman

And on Rhyno, he is a monster, hes the best big man in the business today, he's solid in the ring and his promo's lately on Impact have been superb, he got pissed off in WWE because he was being buried and was going through personnal problems devorcing from his wife and she wouldn't let him have access to their child[ren] [im pretty sure it was just one child]

Vince shouldn't hold a grudge on that, Rhyno could draw money, the only big man they have who is good is Umaga, and he can't do promos and you know WWE loves that their talent can do mic work, I suppose they have Mark Henry as well, but he's tired, hes on our screens non stop for nearly 13 years

Im not counting Show or Khali they're a diferent typr of wrestler they're too big, im thinking of guys like Bam Bam Bigelow's size

Anyway, im rambling

Yup, when Lawler first started mid 1993 for the next couple of years he was excellent and even upto the attitude era he was still routing for the heels, but now he pretty pathetic, how he is still a commentator for the product god knows, Joey Styles injected passion back into the broadcast when he was hired but Vince didn't like that, so he got rid of him

He really doesn't understand how stale the product is

Some suggestions for Angle/Segment of the Year

Flair retirement

Jeff Hardy Swanton onto Randy Orton from the titantron

Flair/Shawn "Old Yeller"

Big Show/Mayweather at No Way Out

Big Show/Mayweather contract signing with the press slam

CM Punk winning the World Title from Edge

Edge/Mick Foley Hell in the Cell promo

Chris Jericho throwing Shawn through the jeritron 5000

Big Dave and Shawn "you did the wrong thing" "I did the right thing"

Shawn/Jericho/Rebecca at Summerslam

Anything involving Santino

EDIT: I'll try and add some TNA segments.

Kurt doing the MMA training destroying four geeks.

Thats all i can think of. At least in 2006 and 2007 we had some Nash hilarity which could always be relied on. Even thats been lacking this year...

So is wrestling good again? Is it fun again? Haven't watched it in years now.

I'm gonna assume we'll never see something as incredible as the Triple H vs Cactus Jack or DX vs The Rock ever again. Is it showing any promise of returning to that? It was so much mindless good fun around that time.

So I'll post 5 times in a row in here then

Apparently Orton has been offered a ten year deal by the WWE

Hmm anyone think that they're taking TNA very seriously as competition now then, next year is a very important year for both promotions

I see that its been leaked that at TNA's PPV in January it will be Mick Foley v Kurt Angle, thats a damn fine way to start the year

Will it? i thought it was Angle v Jarrett again? Thats probably the end of Foley in TNA then, unless he re signs.

Yeah, just a reminder to everyone voting to cast three votes each for the awards. Your first choice gets 3 points, 2nd gets 2 and 3rd gets 1. The reason I;m doing that is because i dont anticipate a load of people voting so there will probably be a lot of ties, and this should eliminate that.

Anyone who votes is eligible to enter a draw to get one of my four pw torrents invites that I have.

    • What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.
    • Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......
    • I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.    Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.
