Can the papers be trusted though!

I would say their is too much on, festivals/summer concerts/ tickets going on sale for winter concerts.

People simple cant afford them all!

Im going to outsider , T, Chili's, Foo F, Magic Numbers, Fray, Arcade Fire, Stereophonics, Kings of Leon, Connect, Indian summer. Most of these have been put on sale in the last month or so. Luckly im not having to pay for them all but others not as fortunate have to fork out for fear of missing or simple not go.

Ebay tickets become an option then because people cant afford now but come sept/oct may fancy it no tickets available so ebay is the option.

Perhaps a rule should be ticket sales 1 month before gigs giving people an oppertunity to buy for today and scammers less time to punt tickets.

the fact that if i wasnt goin to glasto, i was considering this. im sure quite a few others might have been the same.

but i guess the amount of scottish festivals this year, plus its northerness has had an affect on sales too.

doing a search on google news found no mention of poor sales only expected traffic chaos and up to 10,000 expected, I expect the 2,500 figure is the tickets already sold with the camping passes and as they have all gone thats not a bad sign. I would expect a lot to attend on day tickets and with the bad weather recently people are holding back from buying early, this happens at other festivals Cornbury being one I was at last year where people were turning up to get a day ticket to see Robert Plant play on the saturday and finding them sold out ( the numpties should have done their homework and checked how many gigs he was playing in the UK and realised that there would be a demand for them )

ps. and look at the sponsers they have a large Whisky company and the EU a bit of a loss first year should not be a problem

I'm tempted to go to this (full weekend, camping), mainly for the atmosphere. But I'm chronically indecisive and don't know if it's a great idea, or a pretty poor one (only been to three festivals before, and never alone). Thoughts (please!)? I'll buy you a nice pint of cider, or other drink of your choice, if you assist in the decision making process ;)

What a shambles ticketmaster are. I booked my tickets a month ago and they still havent arrived. I've phoned them and i now have to pick them up at the site. Was i supposed to kinetically know this? I trust i'll get my delivery fee back! At least a tout would tell you where to get the tickets!!

Same here - I'm not adopting any more kids! I'm going on my own too but would be up for meeting up for a drink on the Friday (that's tomorrow isn't it) I'm happy wandering about randomly on my own though so I wouldn't plan on stalking you throughout the festival!! ;):)

    • Happy with the name, unhappy with what it did to the lineup. Now I have to choose between Florence Road and Beirut 😞 and still no alternative to 21p.
    • Odd and rare for RW indeed! I even remember reading in the past that one of the reasons for certain bands not appearing there, were similar demands being rejected. It’s weird that they play after Gorillaz and even more weird that there won’t be an alternative. All they had to do was push Pixies to later.
    • Klymaxx (The classic lineup) are rumoured to be back together and planning shows.    100k at this. Pyramid field shut down from the bandstand
    • Self Esteem on TfG for the new BA venue in London next week   Also McFly at the Piece Hall, and several for Llangollen summer sessions.   I think is starting to show the new unused inventory platform starting to kick in. Could be be seeing a lot more last minute stuff from now on.
    • I wonder if a market might open up for academy bands to start playing one off arena shows with prices in the £40-50 range. The biggest arena artists must be pricing out a fair few punters and smaller sized acts could fill a void giving people an arena experience at a price that doesn't make you actually wince.
