But think about all the costs that go into a normal album, including promotion, studio related costs, paying producers/engineers, and so on. Pearl Jam make a profit with their normal albums, even with this massive cost. I hypothesise that the live albums maybe did not reap as much in profits (although they did sell very well), but they had a lower cost altogether to create.

I stongly disagree.

The professional recording, editing, organising etc and then calculating of figures for each live CD would be musch greater. Certain CD's would have losses, whereas others would have gains. Surely if it was purely a profiteering exercise, then they would cancel production of certain CD's over others or have this reflected in the priceing structure - it is not.

To be honest with you, I've never felt the need. I feel that my biting, witty comebacks are enough to sort him out.

Then thats all well and good..........please don't think its you I have the issue with here, I find your posts to have much more humour and substance to them, perhaps you could show your friend a thing or two.

Right back to PJ - whats the best website to find out the setlists of recent gigs so I can get and idea of what the setlist might be for Reading?

Maybe a process of elimnation on here would work best:

Alive, Black, Given to Fly, World Wide Suicide, Yellow Leadbetter, a cover of a who song will all definitely make it.

Like I said, I will give him a damn good thrashing.

Seriously though *solemn face on*, the reason I find myself 'siding' with Nora more often than not is because I find his posts have a lot of humour in them...it's not even solely about music taste: i like Muse, but I was laughing my ass off about one of his anti-muse posts.

it's a shame you can't see him through my eyes *sobs quietly*.

EDIT: Sorry Pogal, for talking about personal matters after you'd posted that, but I'm a slow typer. ;)

A cover of a Who song is definate? That's pretty cool.......

Only been getting into Pearl Jam recently, anyone know how likely it is we'll get to hear Dissident, Do the Evolution, Rearviewmirror, Spin the Black Circle, Even Flow, Betterman and Daughter? They're probably the ones I'm liking the most at the moment.......

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
