Summer Sonic in Tokyo and Osaka is always fun, and the first lineup announcement for 2026 doesn't disappoint. One day more than usual, since it's the 25th anniversary.

I thought this looked fun given potential for more but second lineup seems to be pretty much only Japanese bands so think this is about as good as it gets.

The Japanese bands are usually better and more interesting than the European or American ones 😀.

Has anyone been to this and can share some tips or advice for a first timer? Im hoping to be in Tokyo around this time and would love to go!

Take the train from Tokyo Station to Chiba, it´s a 40 minutes trip. Leaving the station, the first area are very close (stages 2 to 5). The main stage, in a baseball stadium and a beach stage are 20 minutes walking distance from this closed area (unless you buy a vip ticket and can do that by bus). They start around 11am and finish before 10pm.

The sound quality is very good, the crowd is very nice and enjoy every minute there, food are very good, beer prices are ok (around 5 dolars for a 350ml), but... it´s very very hot.
