I'm sorry to say, that it is quite the opposite

This year, the main stages at Hellfest are weaker than in previous years.

But on the other hand, the other four stages are amazing: lots of quality bands, doom, thrash, black metal, really all genres are represented, and that's rare enough to be worth mentioning.

Compared to 2024 and 2025, which were a bit more "open to the general public," this is a bit of a return to the roots ^^

Well its whatever each person thinks really. RAR certainly did something to havs a record sell out and reach their second to final tier price before the whole lineup dropped. Hell Fest kinda just sell out anyway.

Rock am ring is way more main stream, and they did a GREAT job this year, the 2026 line up is beautiful 😍

I'm not surprised they sold out so quickly

Aye its is. I often find out of the Hell Fest and Graspop Hell Fest just edges it. The likes of Wacken are way too heavy for me to ever consider. Hell Fest is the kinda 4 day for me where I could bring it down to 3 for a better spread but I acknowledge it's not for me generally. Headliner wise this year just about beats next year for me, I think 23 and 24 did too with Linkin Park being this years big factor. 2022 overall was good but I feel Hell Fest albeit has had a recent elements of lesser lineups, I believe they'll knock it all out for the 20th anniversary in 2027

    • Its just going to be another dementia tax isn't it? The issue is this is going to be seen as a continuation of the labour government that have already raised taxes 1000% above manifesto promises.
    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
    • But I think the point of that Dan Needle tax thing...we need to put up income tax, for all incomes (and thresholds should be unfrozen).
    • There are no easy answers...more than anything we need growth...and probably main ways of getting that is borrowing more to invest in stuff that makes us super sexy, and/or cut taxes on business and wealth generation which would mean less money to spend on public services and welfare and would obviously be super unpopular and get you chucked out of govt. On top of all that got an aging population, a growing welfare bill, a call for higher spending on defence, housing inequality, higher borrowing costs, and probably a load more sh*t on the way due to the Iran war (although so far it hasn't been that bad?)
