she bangs the drums
Good afternoon, Did anyone else have to deal with the changes to the accessible route from the ticket exchange tent to Pedestrian gate A? We have been attending the festival since 2010 and because there are usually long queues for the bus, (and because we usually camp away from Spring Ground as there are there are 6 of us), I carry all our gear on a trolley and my wife (who has Cerbral Palsy) walks alongside at a slow pace (i.e. on the short journey where the blue arrow is). For the first year someone had played the health and safety card about the small walk from the car park / Access tent to Pedestrian gate A which meant anyone not using the bus would have to follow an alternative much longer (purple line ) route around and back to Pedestrian Gate A once we had wristbands, with no signs, I then then across a small bridge that I struggled to get through with tents etc and my wife was knackered by the time we got to the gate. This is not accessible at all and the annoying thing is they were letting other people walk along this very small stretch of road. I understand that there are vehicles coming along, however there is loads of room to walk along the side if you are sensible. Someone stopped me from the accessible team and told me to complain.
