Pennards?

I was hoping to camp there but the train I've booked arrives at 3pm on the wednesday....I'm hoping to get on an earlier train (last year they didn't care which one you got on) but if I don't and I get through the gates around 4pm...is there any chance for 2 tents at pennards? Last year we camped at Paines and it was a decent spot...would have liked to have been a bit closer to things.

If pennards is full is there any other spots that I should try? I'd like to be close-ish to the SE corner.  Thanks guys

Pennards does fill up very quickly but sometimes there is space you can't see from the walkways, one year someone pitched a small tent in front of us on Thursday, unlikely there will be space for you to camp together though.

Just echoing what others have said, I doubt you will get in at Pennards at that time.

I camp over in South Park 2. It really isn't that far to walk back from SE corner, even in last years mud.

I actually enjoy that amble back to the tent just as the festival is waking up again

If you check out of the aerial pics, there is sometimes a very small amount of space in Oxylers towards the back. It's about as central as you can get, but you might have a job weaving through all the guy ropes late at night/early in the morning.

Just did some reading....is there a smelly reason there's usually space near the back?

What about park home? Will it likely be full then as well?

No, not that I'm aware. It just is far away from the path so people don't spot the gaps further in.

Park Home fills super quick being next to Pennards and now being half the size having been taken over by Arcadia.

We usually go for Hitchin Hill, it's a bit further out but it's got a great view and is usually not too much of a trek back for me. It will probably have a bit of spare space for a couple of small tents.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
