I'm travelling from up north to Brighton on the afternoon of the 21st, to then get a lift at night. This therefore, has royally fucked me over and not sure what to do?

SOUTHERNFAIL

Up north to Brighton? Are you in the sea?

Does anyone know the extent of these "strikes" does that mean reduced services, or no services after a certain time, or none at all? Tweeted southernrail but nothing yet, probably inundated with abuse atm.

From their recent previous strikes, some services will run, but massively reduced in numbers, and thus overcrowding and late cancellations will occur. It's risky to assume you will get to where you want to go. Where are you going from and to? Alternatives are getting National Express to a destination outside Southern's area.

Liverpool - Lewes specifically, I already am pushing it with a half day extra holiday from work for Tuesday.. I could be picked up from anywhere in Sussex if it came to that though, seems like southern run all or most of the London - Sussex lines. I could get the coach from Liverpool but its £60 one way, and I already have train tickets -_-

Lewes is only served by Southern and is a spur of the mainline, so would be effected before they cancel the busier London to Brighton route. You may be able to get a Gatwick Express to Gatwick from victoria and be picked up there. But if I were you I would book a London to Brighton National Express (before they get fully booked up!) - it takes longer, but Brighton is only 20 minutes from Lewes so whoever is picking you up would be a lot happier for you doing that!

National Express coach station for Brighton is a short walk from London Victoria train station.

Unfortunately I don't have a car in the UK, spend most of my year working in Russia, so can't really keep a vehicle in the UK, so no idea about driving down. All I know is whenever we  go to/come from the festival we always always get stuck on the A303 ;)

After the festival, I'm down to Deal for 3 months of doing, though. Can't bloody wait.

Yeah thats why I was wondering if you knew an alternative route. Safe travels anyway sir.

Bloody hell, that's an immense walk. Just for the h(u)ll of it, or a charity thing?

It is his first Glastonbury and think is just for the hull of it.  Tried uploading a photo but failed.

His plan is to hook up with us on the Tuesday night and join the queue.

Looking forward to meeting him as already looking like an awesome new camp buddy.

He's going to deserve a very, very large quantity of cider to refresh him after that walk. Fair play to him - hope you all have an epic festival!
