Walk from the Car Park

Morning all. New KC visitor this year and the girlfriend and I are looking forward to a great few days in the lakes.

Now as a newbie; a couple of questions.

1. How far is The Great Holmes Campsite from the carpark? What's the route like? Can I pull a box trolley?

2. We need to leave Sunday night to be back for the kids, can we pack up Sunday afternoon, drop stuff in the car, then go and watch the Sunday lineup?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, the 2nd questions easier to answer, yes you can pack Sunday afternoon. You'll find loads of people do the same.

Þhe 1st question, if you arrive early Thursday it could be 2 minutes away, if you arrive late Friday it could be 10 minutes ! The great Holmes section is just through the entry point so when your through that you're there. It obviously depends on where you want to camp in that field as well as its quite a large area.

You'll be fine with the trolley, if the path ways are muddy it might get a bit of a chore though

There's no problem in packing up early...I've done it every year I've been (but not this year as Mrs_Grump is staying home!).

We usually pack up Sunday morning so not to miss any music.

Fantastic stuff, thank you very much.  We should arrive around 1.00 o'clock on Thursday.  We're booked into Club Class, so want to be close to that - girlfriends choice, not mine ;)

Any advice on camping in Great Holmes section? Best place in there?

Just seen the map and it seems the Emp Field looks a bit of a trek, but again judging by the reply’s on the forum a max of 10 min walk should be the norm?

We too arrive around 1pm on Thursday and have enough gear/food to supply a small refugee camp! (the wife likes her luxuries!)

The emporer field has its own car park. The walk should be much shorter. Arriving on thursday you should be talking minutes. Certainly easy enough to do as many trips as you like.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
