Worthy View checking in

Last year Worthy View allowed people to check in on Tuesday evening, which was nice missing all of the traffic and getting a good nights sleep before the festival opened. But this year there has been no similar announcement and the web site and information pack says it opens for checking in on Wednesday morning at 8:00am. As this is going add to the normal traffic chaos and may result in people turning up through the night and then blocking the narrow country lanes having to sleep in their cars, I wonderd if anyone has heard if it will be possible to check in again on Tuesday.

They're opening the car parks on the Tuesday evening but not the campsites. My understanding is that this is because Worthy View is being treated as 'on site' for the first time - you'll get your wristbands immediately when you check in and the checks on Pennard Hill Gate won't be as strict. I think because of this there are some licensing issues opening earlier

I tweeted them when they were counting down to '1 week to official opening time 8am Wednesday.

I asked if there would be an unofficial opening.

Their reply:

'@WorthyView: No, sorry! Although the car park will be open (no camping), the campsite won't be until 8am Wednesday.'

Thanks, I can make my travel plans now , I had intended to arrive early Tuesday evening but now will have an afternoon kip instead and travel down early Wednesday morning.
