I was wondering if anyone who has been before can offer me some advice. It's my first year at glastobury and my friend and I purchased tickets, campervan and campervan site ticket but she can no longer come leaving me with the campervan bill and the ticket, is it worth paying all that money to go spend 5 days by myself, I have no idea on the whole festival so it seems very daunting. I tried google to find forums if anyone near me or same situation but no luck, any advice is muchoy appreciated thanks x

If your mate is a decent sort they'd still pay for half the camper and ticket, it's not your fault they can't go!

If it were me (and this is my first Glasto too) I'd still go, no guarantee you'll get tickets for future years, and I'm pretty sure you'll quickly find some new mates! From other threads a lot of people actually enjoy going on their own and doing as they please.. although this might be a bit daunting for the first time.

Are you staying in West or East?

Thanks for all the advice and the links. Leoness I'm staying in West side. Unfortunately I'm too good of a friend so paid everything myself and my friend is now pregnant and saving for the baby so I've got more chance of winning the lotto then seeing any actually pound notes. I didn't get told till after the final refund day was gone' oh we'll. I think I'm finding it daunting that everything will now be on my own and ill struggle to find people my age who will actually wana talk to a singlesome stranger let alone hang around a little outside my comfort size if you know what I mean

Hard core heavy metal lol, huge cider fan and just wana dance the night away with some peeps without looking like I've lost my third arm for being on my own lol

Hi, we have a camp set up from others travelling solo but it would mean camping. But if you want to go for that option you're more than welcome to join us and as Stone Circle said the campervan ticket would be snatched up so I'm sure you could work something out so you're not out of pocket.

Feel free to say hello over here if you fancy it, there are quite a few in the group from all over the place and varying ages. /topic/184687-ok-so-lets-get-it-organised-anyone-going-solo-want-to-join-forces/page-65">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/topic/184687-ok-so-lets-get-it-organised-anyone-going-solo-want-to-join-forces/page-65

GO

I have gone to Glastonbury with a group of friends, on my own and now with my family. I have to say there is a certain pleasure in being on your own, no arguments on which way to go, who to see amongst others. The downside is sometimes other peoples type of music can lead to a surprise band along the way and the ability to share the Glastonbury experience when chatting in the following months and years.

It is very doable festival on your own. Go, you will be richer in memories for it, and as others have said its such a lottery getting tickets now.

GO

Keep in mind that you can't get a refund on your tickets now, so either way you're going to be spending the money. You may as well go!

I can safely say you wont regret going. Lots of people go alone. It's an experience like no other and despite going with friends I love spending time wandering on my own without them.

This will be my very first Glastonbury ever and I'm in a caravan in the west field... Reason I'm going is my best friend last year and he told me how amazingly friendly the people were. In that everyone talks to everyone and leave their modern city ways behind of ignoring everyone. That more than the music was the appeal to me (and seeing that BBC documentary about the behind the scenes life in Glastonbury). So having never been, I can't vouch for much, but from what I've heard and seen you will be totally fine on your own and make friends in no time. You will have an amazing time.
