Pennard Orchard

Anyone stayed up at Pennard Orchard?

Bit of a glamping setup with Tipi's etc.

I know it's up the hill of death past Worthy View which I have stayed at previously and vowed never again as that hill used to kill me at silly o'clock.

I know the arguments about out of the festival etc etc but wondered if anyone thought it was worth the money?

I've not stayed there but will be staying in their tipi's soon, as it's where I'm getting married.I've been to the main house and walked the grounds. It's a delightful place and the people who own / run it are lovely. That said, staying at the place during the festival is expensive. On top of that it's the kind of place where you really want to stay and enjoy it rather than be going to and from a festival. I guess it attracts monied people who will get lifts to the festival and back whenever they want.

I had mates who stayed there in 2010. It's another 15 minute walk past Worthy Farm but they run golf buggies back and forth if you can't be arsed walking. I used to walk up to meet them and use the shiny porcelain toilets each morning. Quite a pleasant walk in the early morning sunshine.

Nice toilets, showers, beds, bar but too out the way for my liking and WAY too expensive. If you want a quiet nights sleep it may be tge place for you. By the last day the golf buggy drivers were giving lifts to mates instead of the paying punters.

I've never stayed with them myself, and I am biased because my friends run this, but there is the pop up hotel. It's next to the Apple Tree Inn, so a flat walk home at night and Vicky and Mark are lovely people. I visited the year before last and the place really does look wonderful. http://www.thepopuphotel.com/glastonbury-festival?view=default
