Auto refresh screen capture tool......

Hi all,

Does anyone who knows about such things think the following will work....

A tool you can load proxies into maybe.....

It auto refreshes in milliseconds until it gets a hit from a keyword i.e "qty" then stops?

Any ideas?

...similar to what used to happen on ebay when you got skanked at the last millisecond and out bid by 3p on an item ?

Very easy to defeat from a webserver/network perspective - if there is an excessive amount of hits from a single IP - just drop that IP addie [by excessive = quicker than is humanly possible for a human to hit ctrl +f5]

Even easier place all the words in the booking page into the front page as meta tags. Then you is stuck there

Ya I can dig what your saying about the terms of service etc...however what are they going to see at there end on the logs?..if it was refreshing every 1000ms (1 second) then they "might" be able to check there logs and see the exact timed attempts...if it refreshed randomly i.e between 100 and 1000ms they wont see a pattern...thats if they even check. Im sure theres way round it all providing I can talk to the right person......

After some digging ...they use a juniper security box that detects delinquent behaviour and drops the source IP. If you randomise the auto-refresh to that extent, you are defeating the object and may as well do it manually. :-(

yeah - understand the concept - and first thought what a good idea ... one problem is that you have to get to the reg page to know what the key words are then set them in ... it seems every year there is a different format for the pay page. Unless you have a person on the inside ? next year i shall inspect the landing page for meta tags ... then 2014 to Oct 2015 I shall develop a prog .... um maybe I will just hit F5 :-)

Nice thought though

Thanks for your replies artl.....

It wouldnt need to look for meta tags as it would be scanning the page source for the keywords...i.e view the page source of this thread by right clicking then hitting view source (dependant on your browser) then do a search for "milliseconds"

It would work the same way crack tools scan the page sources for specific keywords in order to get a hit or a fail...

i.e im asuming the page today that people used to enter there reg nos then pay would of had something like "ENTER REGISTRATION NO" that would of been the hit

The failure would of been the holding page that was counting down so you would possibly enter the failure key from that page (a series of text)....

I have a tool that does this, paid someone to build it with coffee.

Was pretty useless as only works when a page is returned and fir long periods I didn't get a connection and so no page was returned, so I hit f5 in many tabs on many browsers until I got through to the holding page

Once I was there hammered f5 again and got tickets

Ps , the many tabs is fine just close the ones you don't need down when you buy tickets

PPS. No I'm not passing the tool on, it shit and is really hard to setup

Ive got someone working on this......

Does anyone know if on ticket day when we were refreshing

http://glastonbury.seetickets.com/content/gfl-holding

This would only give 3 results....a blank page, the holding page that had a count down on it or the actual ticket page.....

Was there something else you needed to click inbetween before you got to the actual enter registration no page?

Is this how it is every year also?

Also which keywords could you see written on the page? I am asuming "enter registration no" ? Or something similar that was unique to the ticket buy page?

Also "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to glastonbury.seetickets.com"

And it's very hard to cater for what will happen year to year, as there were some changes this year from last, so don't pay your developer too much just yet ;)

I took some screenshots of the page from the Coach and Ticket sale on the 3rd. "Please enter your registration details below" appeared on that and on the page to pay the balance last April.

Still think this is as likely to backfire as to work though. :P
