Festi Taxi

just been looking at other festivals and on Bestival they have festi taxis, do they work ? would they work at Glastonbury ? never heard of them before

There was a guy offering taxi services on a tricycle as we entered gate d wednesday morning, unofficially obviously.

Can't imagine they would work at Glastonbury, at Bestival the campsites are a lot less busy and they only took you from the boutique campsite to a drop off point near the arena entrance. Didn't bother using one at last years Bestival because it was only a 5 minute walk back to the boutique campsite anyway

Worked nicely at Latitude but I'm not convinced it would work at Glastonbury. Probably more suited to festivals laid out as carpark>campsite>arena.

Possibly Glasto is just so huge that taxis would find themselves on a 40 minute round trip taking people to certain campsites making it not worth their while.

Other than for the peeps in disabled camping (who already have something similar available I think) why else would it be needed ? Maybe a good thing for those peeps with kiddies in tow perhaps and I've no doubt for various other individuals who for one reason or another genuinely find it difficult but other than that it doesn't seem sensible or necessary. Just an encouragement to avoid the organisers request to not bring quite so much (unnecessary) stuff and all that ! I pack far from light no matter where I'm going TBH but as I always travel by PT there is always one simple rule at the end of the day: If I can't hump it, it doesn't come Sadly, one of if not the primary reason 2010 was my last Glasto

Really can't see a full on taxi service as being in any way a practical thing to do no matter what although I do think a few 'sherpa' stylee peeps making a li'l do$h to enjoy over their weekend is just fine of course. Nothing at all wrong with enterprising peeps willingly selling their bodies and all that so to speak Even so, what's a perfectly OK and sensible thing to do at a more typical festival site is perhaps nothing like so sensible at Glasto due to the sheer size and number of peeps.
