BBC Coverage and Smartphones

Having listened to many rounds of Ken Bruce’s popmaster quiz I have noticed that occasionally one of the contestants has left a radio on, this causes immense problems with the broadcast and Ken has to ask the contestant to turn the radio off.

If somebody in the crowd in front on the Pyramid Stage is simultaneously watching the BBC’s live coverage on their smartphone via TVCatchup or similar will this ruin the BBC’s broadcast?

Can't see a tiny speaker on a smartphone a long way from the stage causing the BBC problems to be honest.

If you think at any point past about 5pm in the Pyramid field on any day, that *anybody* will have sufficient 3G data coverage on their phone to stream anything - audio or video - on their phones, then I have a bridge to sell you....

You'll be lucky to get texts in realtime at the front of the Pyramid!
