Insect bites?

If there's an insect about it'll ignore everyone else within a mile radius and go for me

If you've been before do you get bitten? And if so by what - horsefly etc?

Never been bothered by insects at Glastonbury, except for lots of tent spiders.

Not at Glasto but last summer I got bitten horrificly they swelled up to the size of golf balls, all i can say is take bug spray and anti-histamines incase you do get bitten. I also take odourless garlic capsules because apparently they keep bugs away ( incidently they are also good for your heart)

Apaprently Avon's Skin So Soft is good for keeping insects at bay - haven't tried it myself but everyone seems to say how good it is.

If you do get bitten DON'T SCRATCH the bite - it just makes them itch more!

I did get bitten by a horsefly in 2011, which I stupidly ignored and continued to plod around in mud for the next three days, until the Sunday when my leg had swollen up to three times its size and I had to be taken to Medical. However, that is the only time I've been bitten at Glastonbury and I've been a few times.

So, its unlikely that you will get bit, but if you really are that unlucky, then make sure you cover the bite and keep it clean. As much as people like to claim that Glastonbury mud has health benefits, it left me needing a course of strong antibiotics!

I got bitten twice by a horsefly at kings of Leon before Glasto in 2011, I ended up in medical on the Friday dosed up on painkillers, antibiotics and antihistamines!

Now I use Avon skin so soft it's the stuff the army use so it must be good!

Even little bites can become bad, something bit me at Latitude one year right on the back of my heel so must have been something in the tent really unless it got in my sock somehow. Anyway, because my shoes were rubbing it all weekend it got infected and ballooned so ended up going to hospital the day after we got back and had to take a course of penicillin.

not to sure about bugs,but watch out for the wild boar there free roaming and do bite. In 2010 one came into our tent and bit my friends foot off he was air lifted to hospitar but was pronounced dead on arrival go steady

I saw a badger once while walking through the wooded short cut between the old? cinema field and the top of the pyramid stage, sadly this shortcut is no longer accessible

Badeger seemed happy enough snuffling about.
