Foals?

So following a lot of hype on here (including from people who I normally have similar tastes to), as well as recommendations from friends, I bought Total Life Forever and have given it a good listen over the last month (5 or 6 plays).

I'm not really into it though. Is it worth trying another album or do I just let sleeping dogs lie on this one....

Foals are great and I will be there. But I reckon go with your friends. Being with your friends makes Glastonbury for me..........unless you are the type that can walk into a field on his own where there is thousands of strangers and you can make friends there easily............

But a lot of the best moments happen when you are with friends to share it...........

In saying that if you cant stand Dizzee and there is a risk you will moan for the whole gig then you may be better off not there...........

i think i'll be facing this dilemma a lot at Glastonbury - go and see an act i love alone or go see an act i like with friends. i'm definitely one of those people who has a lot more fun when with friends so it's gonna be a tough one in a lot of cases (added to the fact that once i leave a group of friends finding them again afterwards is a whole other issue)

luckily my friends don't have TERRIBLE taste - they'll be going to see bands i at least moderately enjoy. just maybe not the ones i'd have chosen to see. will probably do it half / half as there are a few 'must sees' for me that i know i'll have a hard time convincing people to come and see

Got by the look of it exactly the same clash. Dizzee vs Foals. Now I want Foals but the other 2 will want Dizzee.

I like Dizzee myself too so it's not a hardship but saw him in 2010 and going to at Muse next week so a change would have been good

I've seen Foals innumerable times and can confirm they are incredible live, Yannis may be the best frontman I've ever seen, it's a tie between him and Jarvis.

Worth a shot but as other said ...they may just not be for you if you don't like TLF.

The first album antidotes isn't really them anymore, its good but basically pretty standard mid-naughties indie with some keyboards :P

Holy Fire gets better every time I listen to it....I think I might prefer Inhaler/My Number to anything else they have done but as a whole album TLF is better.

EDIT: Ok might be a slight exaggeration, I do love Spanish Sahara quite abit still and Cassius was the first song I heard of theirs so..I'll always quite like that. But then right after is My Number/Inhaler.

    • I’m struggling to stay awake for this Brazil / Morocco … that goal helps though 😀
    • I’m not Scottish but am going to try to do it. My plan is to try and get an hour sleep between games, put the alarm on and hope that’s enough to get me through!
    • Any Scots on here with any tips as to how they're going to try to stay up for the 2am match? If indeed that's the plan.
    • If it's over 30-35 degrees C, it's ok. But it does feel like people just want any opportunity to crowbar in any advert where possible.
